    Tidy!

We'll have the Maskaev - Peter card and I think it's a nice addition. Okay, so it's not going to be a helluva fight but I'm still interested to see what happens.

    Gotta go with McCline UD.

Ruiz DOESN'T have a new style. He ALWAYS stalked second and third tier opponents with known shaky chins. It was against good fighters that he turns into John Ruiz.

    Otis Tisdale TKO 2
    Thomas Williams TKO 2
    Mario Cawley TKO 4
    Jerry Ballard TKO 4
    Ray Anis TKO 1

I could go on, but he always KOs no-namers within a few rounds.

And this is a bad thing?

He proudly says he has taken on this new style as if its a permanent change, along with the new trainer. I was impressed with his effectiveness and aggression against Tisdale, but then again, it was against Tisdale..................But we shall see. I'll be interested to see if he can maintain his new outlook against McCline. For Ruiz, stopping the excessive clinching must be as hard as trying to quit smoking.

I think McCline has probably now got new respect for the uppercut, seeing as how it was bouncing the seemingly iron chinned Peter off the canvas. I think McCline will have his star punch uppercut ready for Ruiz as he's trying to come in.

Not really. Seemed like the ref stopped that one to prevent the crowd from getting bored to death in what was more of a hugfest than a boxing match. Ruiz landed the first clean punch in the entire fight, and the ref stopped the fight early. If you haven't watched the fight before, don't. Just take my word for it. Possibly the worst title fight ever.

Here's an account of the fight from right afterwards:

This match is a nice undercard, I hope Mccline wins and gets a title shot somewhere down the road, but my money is on Ruiz. I cant possibly see Ruiz knocking out Mccline who was only stopped once by Wlad, not including the Valuev fight, which wasnt a stoppage from punches. I see Ruiz punching and grabbing all night to a victory, I just hope Mccline comes in looking to go the distance, but he should be looking for the early knockout, because he does good power early in fights.

Look for * Ruiz Tisdale * on Youtube for a good example of the new style Ruiz has under this new trainer. Not sure what will happen, but I think it'll be a good fight, inspite of the poor reputation each fighter has.
