The fact that Maidana didn't KO Khan like a ragdoll kinda makes the Prescott fight pretty moot.

Bearing in mind Maidana is easily the heaviest puncher in the division and twatted Khan around the ring for two minutes with next to no reply.

What do you mean who else CAN he fight? He CAN fight Peterson or McCloskey. If he has to pay a bit more to get in a decent opponent, so be it, thats how boxing works. Frankly I don't give a ****, I want to see the best possible opponent. Isn't that we're here for as boxing fans? Or are we here to be accountants? No we're not, so stop being a shill and acknowledge Prescott is a crap fight and should be way down the shortlist and the only reason its considered as viable is to take advantage of know nothing idiots like yourself that would lap up the grand rematch, against the Khan conqueror, the big hitting Prescott! I can see the build up now.

As for psychological effects, do indulge me Mr Freud :patsch He fought a very good fighter and had lots of problems, it happens. He firstly took the shots, and secondly showed enough heart and stick in ability to display to me that he's past the Prescott debacle physically and mentally.

Not quite, boxing is renowned for fighters taking shots by bigger foes only to get knocked out by someone who doesnt hit as hard.

TFFP i agree with everything your saying but imo falling around the ring for 2.30 mins turning your back twice and staggering back to the corner does not constitute Khan 'proving' he has a chin or overcome it physically. he proved that Cortez had his back (consider if Khan had been a foreigner in a british ring - would that fight go on?) and he has balls to take those shots without quitting ala Ortiz

The problem is with Khan now is that his opponents know hes got a Sky PPV date as well as HBO and with TV companies unwilling to approve the championship version of a latvian bin man so leaving a few fighters - all of whom want a chunk of cash - fair or not.

Hes gona have to stump up the cash to one of them or else no SKy PPv or HBO. tricky enough scenario - but i guess that can happen when you discuss things through the likes of twitter

Yes who else can he fight, Khans team wont offer higher sum than they did with maidana as no fight for april is in demand like that one was and they did say that they wouldnt be so genrous next time. so it is unlikely mccloskey and peterson will get a better offer.

I never said prescott was great khan is leagues above him.

But like the idiot you are you refuse to answer my question.

IF KHAN DOESNT FIGHT PETERSON OR MCCLOSKEY IN APRIL WHICH OTHER FIGHTERS CAN HE FACE THAT WILL MAKE SENSE AND BOTH HBO AND SKY WILL BUY

    ITS NOT HARD TO ANSWER

AND AGAIN KHAN HAS GREAT HEART BUT TO SAY HE IS FREE OF DEMONS FROM PRESCOTT IS PATHETIC.

    ITS QUITE CLEAR.

There is no doubt it was a bad round, and I'm not claiming Khan's chin is now iron. It's still crackable, quite clearly. But over the course of the entire bout, he showed enough to me that he's on a far higher level physically than he was a few years ago. It would have been laughable to think he could take the punches early in the fight, or survive a disastrous round such as the 10th, when he was being put over for the count by Limond. That's my point. As for the mental side of it, if anything he was overly ambitious and open at times considering the danger Maidana represented. I didn't see a gunshy Khan.

As for the point about British refs/foreigners, I know the point you're making but I think you're using a wrong to try and question a right. British refs being unacceptably crap does not mean Cortez did bad. Khan was on the edge of being stopped but remained upright and did just about enough to keep Cortez at bay.

Why wouldn't he able to fight McCloskey OR Peterson? Both are available. Perhaps if both are unhappy with the terms team Khan would like to reconsider their offer? That's 2 fighters that are not happy, maybe that says something? I'm not going to get into figures like a few muppets, but that would seem to be common sense to me. Is Ortiz also not available?

You can have Prescott 3rd or 4th on the list if you so desire as a last resort. Whatever helps you sleep at night man...

Do expand on that last line? You reaffirming a statement that you've already said is not really a convincing argument.

He might not be able to make those fights because he has said since maidana he wont be so genrous and opponents will have to take it or leave it.

ortiz is fighting berto by the looks of things, even if he wasnt godenboy wont make that fight just yet.

, now i am a boxing fan and dont really care for figures but you have to look at these things logically and realistically, it makes no sense looking at thgem as a boxing fan when negotiations are nitty bitty like these.

So i ask again who else can he fight in april if they do not up the offer for the two other obvious candidates.

fair points. in terms of Khan legacy beating Prescott does more than beating McCloskey or Peterson. Being able to say he has beat every man he has faced. Still would rather see the Mc or Peterson fights though.

it "sounds" better but it isn't a better achivement. McCloskey is a better fighter than Prescott
