I'm not saying this even happened, I don't believe it or am blaming him. However, in this case, there's not a lot of demands I would make or demands I wouldn't agree to outside handicaps. And the belt means nothing, the name value is huge. Think about it, McCloskey can completely steal Khan's thunder with a victory, and I'm sure the demands aren't so ridiculous he can't take the fight. I bet they're the best he's seen in his career.

No doubt McCloskey realised the job in front of him and quit early.

No actually its probably not decent at all.
Im not saying for a single second that Khan is scared of mcloskey at all...but every single fight Khan has these days he accuses the other team of pricing themselves out.

Im starting to get the impression that in fact team Khan are a bunch of tight *******s who dont want to give anybody any decent money when they fight him. They think he is the star and everybody should accept whatever they offer.

Put it into this perspective...when a fighter fought oscar dela hoya or floyd mayweather they obviously want and expect to get some decent money out of it and Khan would be the same if he were fighting them.

So he needs to stop being so tight with others becasue thats what i think it comes down to with him

Its a damn shame we always ending up talking about the money .... boxing will continue to shoot itself in the foot because promoters get too greedy and boxers start to believe there own hype ! .... so many good match ups out there but too many greedy people !

    :deal

Thats it in a nutshell, a fighter is entitled to a much better wage in this sort of fight and for the Khan team to penny pinch in the manner they have, is a disgrace.

im not being funny or nothing but these arguments from prescott and mcloskey seem a bit hollow. they just want a nice big fat payday! how can anyone blame khan for running scared when he has just come out of a fight with one of the best LWW's around and one of the biggest pound for pound punchers in boxing today?

Asif is unbelievable. In todays press they are claiming that opponents are asking for ridiculous sums of money...

"They get the chance of fighting Amir, and seem to think they can add a couple of noughts on the purse. I don’t know where they get the notion from that we are awash with money for his fights"

What he's actually saying is, "we don't want them getting more than they get from their normal fights and we want the rest of the cash".

If he said that i'd be perfectly happy with it, what I don't like is when they attempt to make out that these fighters, who asking for their normal percentage (which when your take into account them fighting Khan means a much higher sum, but still the same percentage) would somehow result in Team Khan going poor. It's greed.

If I was Prescott/Mcclosky/Peterson I would hold out.. because in around 10-14days time the networks are going to tell TK to sort their act out and will end up forcing the situation

I don't think he's running scared but he's being unreasonable. McCloskey has a decent name in Britain having fought there on Sky a good few times and he's respected and will sell tickets in the MEN. It looks like Khan is taking advantage of the fact that these guys are desperate for a title fight and it looks like he's hoping they'll fight for peanuts.

I think most fight fans will recognise the fact that a fighter deserves a decent cheque for the risks he takes. We talk plenty on here about greedy promoters and the like so we should commend a fighter when he refuses to be taken for a ride and taken advantge of.

If McCloskey agrees to peanuts for this fight then the pattern will continue for his future fights. I hope he hangs in there and gets the money he deserves.
