If he turned down £200k I would be very dissapointed. As long as there was no crazy options that he had to sign.

if mccloskey wants 300k he can dream on....maidana only got like 550 thousand dollars i think and he is a big name, 150k is reasonable, theres no chance paul wins this fight so maybe he just wants a big pay day

Team Mcloskey are suggesting Maidana got a million for his fight. It makes you think what kind of money they are expecting by fighting Khan!

you could summarise this thread by saying "the irish want mccloseky to get more money" & "the brits want mccloskey to take the fight on khan's terms".

the fact that so many brits are adamant that mccloskey should take the fight indicates that this is the fight they actually want to see. i'm sure some people will argue otherwise but the fact your putting your life and soul into posting would suggest otherwise. granted - at this stage you probably want to see the fight to watch khan take his head off.

i can't speak for all irish fans but its the fight i want to see too and i'm sure i'm not the only one. if mccloskey wants 300grand then khans people should pay up. mccloskey will cover his own purse in irish ticket sales and tv audience.

I think McCloskey is a decent opponent but I am hardly overrawed with the possibility of a Khan-McCloskey fight. I am slightly more interested in this fight then a Peterson fight but won't lose sleep if it doesn't happen and to be honest I would more rather see McCloskey prove himself and get a few more wins to show that he deserves his shot. I would more rather see Prescott II then McCloskey personally.

I think they should compromise and meet somewhere half way, how about 200 grand straight up and then a slice of the PPV if it performs really well lets say £1.50 of all PPV Sales above 400k.

Has Khan ever even done 200k PPV before?

God knows, Sky don't announce the figures and it's only occasionally that you get real sources that indicate the success of a PPV. Most of the figures that are thrown around are hearsay.

But if those figures that are thrown around are true then probably not, but I did once read on a forum that Khan-Prescott did 400,000 buys. That loss did a lot of harm to his marketability but he has got a lot of good press for the Maidana fight so I definitely expect a pick up from his last few fights.

Much like Audley to get the Haye fight, you get the feeling there's an awful lot of mock outrage being thrown about in order to push someone's hand here.

I'd be very disapointed if McCloskey didnt take the fight, im intrigued to see if he can step up to World level.
