Paul McCloskey weighed in at 141lb yet everyone pretended he made the weight. No one bothered to say he was 1lb over or that he had to take it off.

Anyone know what the hells going on here? :nut

I'm just simply asking if anyone knows what this is about. See vid below - McCloskeys weight is announced as 10st 1lb then they just pose for photos. No one mentions the limit is 10st.

    What are they fighting for?

in some non-championship fights you are allowed 1 lb over the limit.

Is there a 1 pound allowance in a non-title fight? That is the rule in the States

No it wont but i still like to see things being fair.

Dont get me wrong, I like McCloskey and i'll be there tonight cheering for him but i want to see a fair fight and not just ignore it because hes the home fighter. I've followed McCloskey from the start of his career but i'm honest enough to say there's no way he won the Prescott fight and now he comes in over the limit and its just ignored - dont like that.

He'd have made weight if he took those gay necklaces off.

Even then he could milk his ***** tits to shift another pound or so.

Ok that could well be it. I thought i read it was for some WBA intercontinential title or some bollocks like that, but obviously not. Must have made that up :patsch

Over what limit ?, the Light-Welterweight limit ?, well that doesn't mean anything as a title isn't at stake. This bout like most non title fights was probably agreed to at a maximum 142/143 lb weight limit. This is common practice and I'm surprised some people are not aware of this. Why do you think Corley's camp didn't kick up a fuss ?, because in their eyes McCloskey done nothing wrong.

McCloskey has actually never made the 140 Light-Welterweight limit in a non title or non eliminator bout. Corley was over 140 himself in his last few non title bouts, as he is the vast majority of the time a title isn't at stake.
