    Badly for Ponce, sadly.

It's the story as much as anything else that has made me a fan of his, and the application he has shown in improving himself to the degree he has. Of course, he's still painfully slow and has terrible footwork, but I don't think it's arguable that he's been giving some pretty well-rounded performances since the Juanma demolition.

I think he may attempt to box with Gamboa to an extent in the early going, a la the Broner fight, but he'll be forced to come in when that plan inevitably fails. I don't think Gamboa will bomb him out early if he stays somewhat patient, as we saw against Solis, Yuri's shown some more responsibility defensively, and doesn't lead recklessly when his opponent doesn't come straight to him like he used to. He'll pick Ponce off early, out-speed, out-smart and out-box him, jabbing and coming in with the occasional left hook and/or right hand and force Daniel to get reckless himself, thus walking him into a world of trouble.

Ponce'll have a hard time finding something that will benefit him when he advances, Gamboa's simply too quick for him to land one of his big ones, and Gamboa won't have a problem finding him when he's trying to force one through. I just think he'll end up walking into one combination too many, and will suffer a similar fate to most of Yuri's fodder by being rabbit-punched into submission after suffering a knockdown or two.

Maybe I'm going out of my way to be unbiased, but I can't envisage a way for Ponce to win(aside from landing something big of course) if I'm brutally honest, but I still think he'll last until the mid-late rounds, which I suppose is longer than most think. Sadly it's not going to be a great showcase for his refinement which I've been crying out for certain people to recognise.

Anyone else a tad more optimistic than myself?

How do you lads see the fight going?

If I'm honest I think I'll regret not getting pissed and leaving my mates birthday party early to watch a fighter I very much admire get smashed about by a Cuban Cyclone.

This is not behaviour befitting of a teenage Irishman.

JP, I see total annihilation of Ponce. Gamboa KO 1.

 Just kidding, I hope Ponce gives it a hell of a fight but I've got Gamboa by Mid round stoppage.

Yep, LP. Tolworth. Right next to Kingston.

 I love the fact that that is all we can hope for; ''hopefully Gamboa commits pugilistic suicide and runs in, chin up, hands down and lets Ponce coil a huge left hand straight to the temple.''

Clondalkin ftw by the way, there's no disputing it.
