Just calling it how I see it. Research it yourself. Bob Spangola has been calling dozens of HW's out for 5 years now, and still no one will fight el NINO.
When he does finally get a big fight, it'll be vs Wlad or Vitali and he'll be killed having zero Bclass experience.:rofl

Oh, and as for Prescott......... i am a fan. Not for his KO of Khan(since Im a bigger fans of Amir's) but b/c I like his throw it all out there style. It's always exciting, even when he is outclassed.

Chances are that McCloskey will win, but that don't mean I aint hoping Breidis don't find that chin, and KHTFO.

McCloskey has a similar style to Kevin Mitchell, and Mitchell easily outboxed Prescott.

This fight is going to kill the Khan-Prescott rematch, and Khan will be happy about that.

I look at fighters like Sanders and think, what if Tyson wouldv'e fought him. What if Lewis woulda faced him? Instead, they found ways to avoid him, and he lacked proper experience in big fights, halfway because he never got into any Bclass scraps except against Rahman.

I just know the same is going to happen with Rodriguez, Wach, and Welliver. These guys are top HWs, but when it comes to getting fights with the Bclass of the division, they are avoided like the plague. I wonder how/why that is.

Now, when either one finally does get a win over a Chambers, Thompson, Haye, Adamek Arreola etc, they'll get their shot at Wlad and be KTFO, lacking the top level experience to step up their game against the best of our era.

Hell, by the time el Nino or Welli get their shot it might be against Helenius, which will end similarly to a shot vs Wlad.

I'm kind of split. To beat Prescott, you have to use ambush tactics, and lead or counter by rushing in from the outside; Mitchell used these kinds of tactics perfectly. McCloskey is certainly able to make Prescott miss and score with quick punches, but at the same time, he is very vulnerable when he throws and doesn't have the tightest guard against combination punching. Prescott can definitely catch McCloskey at some point in the fight. As far Prescott's abilities to box, I think they are underrated, and if Prescott uses his height and throws that jab hard and accurately all night, then he can keep McCloskey at bay and take advantage of his tendencies to be negative. Against Jargal, Prescott was showing a good variety of punches, good head movement, and a tighter guard, so I think that as long as the weight hasn't affected him, he's got a shot at pulling off a 7-5 type decision, if he doesn't get lucky early. He could always get robbed despite being the aggressor, though. Either way, it's a close fight.

I agree and couldn't have said it any better. Another thing, the people that are saying Mitchell and McCloskey have similar styles is wrong. Mitchell throws way more punches than McCloskey and I also believe he is better at fighting on the inside. McCloskey might win a UD on effective punching but he isn't going to shutout Prescott, that's for sure.

:good I agree. Mitchell is much more active with his hands as well as his feet, changing the angle and controlling the tempo. McCloskey might start losing consecutive rounds if he lets Prescott's jab set the pace, especially since he's improved his technique a bit. Paul was looking careless about both getting hit and trying to touch his man in the 5th round TKO victory he scored before facing Khan. It's going to be a good fight, I hope.

Also, I thought this thread could use this vid and you guys would find it interesting:

Am I understanding that pantomime exchange correctly?

Prescott is calling a sixth round knockout, and McCloskey responded that he's going to spark Prescott in one?

    They have both gone daft.

Haha no, you're right about Prescott but McCloskey was sort of taking the **** out of him. Prescott holds 6 fingers aloft insinuating a 6th round (or earlier) knockout, McCloskey then holds up 1 and proclaims 'I'm number 1', as if to say Prescott is holding his fingers up to say he's number 6
