I didn't think so. Boxrec has McCloskey's next date listed as a 12-rounder, though. Prescott doesn't bring a trinket to the table that I'm aware of. :huh
If Khan hadn't lost to Prescott; this fight wouldn't be happening in a million years. But it's a good move, it will at least get him some attention if he were to beat the guy that beat the guy that beat him. I don't blame him. I can see Mccloskey with the points victory although don't rule out Prescott (the guy can bang) with a cheated win.
Maybe its for a vacant trinket, I dont know. Its not possible for Prescott to fight for the european title though, as you have to have lived in europe a certain amount of time and had one of your last five fights there. Boxrec might have it wrong also.
Is it for WBA interim title or some bull****? McCloskey stinks out the fight, lands maybe 48 punches in 12 rounds and pulls out contentious decision.
Is he not supposed to be fighting Mosquera for the interim WBA strap??? We'll find out on tuesday in any case.
Nothing other than an interim world title. Other than that worthless thing that will ensure a world title fight, nothing.
McCloskey will make him look like a fool. I think it's a good fight for him to keep his name floating in the news. When he wins good, he'll always have the claim of outclassing the guy who Khan couldn't beat. I know it has less value to it since he has to share the claim with Mitchell, but amongst Irish and British sports fans, I guess it may have some relevance.
Looks like ice hockey is on at the Odyssey on 17th September ...though the fight may be in another venue or on another date at the odyssey, we will find out tues.
