Or maybe you just bought into the hype & are now kicking yourself & looking for excuses to lessen the blow? Joshua should be fired.. from the fat superior race.
This. Joshua's still a raw fighter and fairly green fighter, so this was bound to happen. Sometimes a fighter has to take a loss before they listen to certain things, since even before the Takam fight McCracken kind of hinted that he wasn't crazy about Joshua continuing to pack on more muscle, but that Joshua was winning, so I could see why McCracken didn't push the issue with Joshua. However, now that Joshua has lost he might now take it a little easy with the weights, since at around 240 he's a lot more mobile and better at pacing himself.
My pal gets McCracken and Macklin mixed up, what we get out of him after a few drinks is "McCracklin"...True story
I've spoken to a number of UK fans now and the general consensus was that he should now be chief sparring partner to The Gypsy King, something I feel very strongly in agreement with...Like a Penance
His arms are stupidly big, they explode from the shoulder down and look out of proportion to his natural frame, and his thighs
Not saying I agree or disagree at this point, I’d need to know which advice in particular and what do you think was wrong with it?
What people fail to realize is, AJ wasn't accustomed to guys standing at close range countering and punching with him. Also Ruiz has a great strategy for big guys. It's very simple, but very effective. Ruiz slips the bigger guys punches, but he doesn't just counter from that position, he slides to the inside of the bigger guy when they are punching. This allows him to use his shorter, faster hands to work in a safe space. Guys like AJ don't fight well moving back, but Ruiz's close proximity dictates that they do. The only other option the big guy has is to hold, which AJ did not do and was never told to do. The rest is history.
It was too basic, throw straight punches, use the jab, AJ`s balance was all over the place after he punched that should have been straightened out in training, it left him out of position and easy to counter, McCracken should have said something about that to AJ but he didn`t notice, he didn`t say anything about the body shots that were killing AJ either, he was stuck in one groove, he`s a one track trainer, during fights you need to adapt, he just kept saying the same basic thing, you could tell AJ didn`t trust what he said and panicked.
Ray Arcel could've been there shooting roids up AJ's ass in the corner, with Eddie Futch whispering in his ear, and he still would've lost to Ruiz.
