    Taking from Hatton's site:

I actually prefer this fight to the McDonagh one. Watson moving up in weight, and Badru you may remember was scheduled to face El Maachi a few weeks ago.

I thought he wanted to campaign at lww?
And now he's stepping up to light middle?
He said he would be more considered in his approach to accepting fights after that defeat he suffered in Italy, and that he wouldn't take fight on short notice. Must be desperate to get a meaningful fight.
And McDonagh's an idiot. Can't see him getting another chance.

Read somewhere that Watson has stepped in just because its a good opportunity (and to be fair to him since his very close defeat to o'donnell hasn't really figured in the mix - also the bills need to be paid) but will still vacate and move down to atleast welter again even if he wins.

Yeah I did too, I know it shouldn't come into it but theres no way I thought that O'Donnell took that title from him.

Well its going to be hard for anything to happen at WW for Watson whilst M Hatton is in such blinding form... really though he should be in the WW mix but becuase of Hatton he is nowhere near either needs to change promoters or change division looks like has made his choice

I hate to say it but yes. I think it is on it's way out like the IBO shite. Unfortunetly the Hattons are pushing the **** out of it to get fighters on tv. But I guess it is a fighter that makes the belt not the other way round.

Best of luck to Watson in this fight. He deserves some kind of recognition considering the joke push Matty Hatton has got.

Matt Hatton has a tough mandatory coming up I think.

the Watson re-match in machester would make sense.

The commonwealth has certainly gone drastically downhill in the last year or 2 imo.

i think watsons taking it just to get a fight and keep his name out there, obv believes he can win also, never seen lusambya fight, im sure i remember hearing he wasnt too impressive but quite awkward to beat. anyone seen him? got anything else apart from a punch billy?
