Ricky Burns, Lee Selby, Anthony Crolla, Toni Bellew and Kell Brook all the same as Jamie - win a World Title from the weakest belt holder, defend against bums then get absolutely exposed when facing a proper World Champion level opponent. Fook me Josh Warrington joined the above list last week.
Yes there is definitely the Matchroom formula inspired by Frank Warren You can add the smith family to that list. The same fate is awaiting the likes of Yarde, Callum Smith and Conor Benn. The only ones I have respect for because they truly tried stepping up levels before biding their time fighting bums waiting for the big payday fight, are Luke Campbell, Bellew, Callum Johnson, Cleverly and Joshua.
No offence but if these guys are not raising suspicion...there's a problem. Plenty of signs of roid use. Punching extremely hard without needing to commit to the punch. This is a pretty new phenomenon. Punching extremely hard with every single punch they throw. Wrecking guys without being in second gear. Keeping that power throughout the fight. The only sign of tiring we,ve seen is down to taking damage back. The only guys we,ve seen compete with golovkin look juiced in canelo and Jacobs. None of these other guys are competing with them. They can't handle even their normal punch power. Their wrecking half decent guys in early rounds without even getting out of second gear. I think what's happening is your guilty of the very thing you accuse others of. "Nothing to see from my heroes...its all on the level...honest". There just superhuman fighters.
Have you ever seen that tho unforgiven...apart from in recent years. Where there not needing to put their bodies into it. Not really breaking a sweat. And breaking half decent guys down in a round or two. Their hurting people with every punch without really trying to. Even your known big punchers of the past we,re sitting down on their shots. These guys are getting the same results without needing to. Dare I say it but their throwing them like arm punches and wrecking guys with them. Understand power varies from person to person. But that's ridiculous. Understand mismatches but when the mismatch is basically all down to power...its worth thinking about.
I think people are totally exagerating what actually happenend in this fight. There was no massive power shots going in from a juiced up inoue. Mac was nervous as hell, thats the truth. He threw that fight away through nerves imo. He couldnt get any kind of rhythm going cos his mind wasnt settled. Lets look at the fight. Mac comes out and starts looking well sliping and rolling, showing us he has an active defence but he was doing this when inoue was no where near contact range. Why feint with rolls when ur out of contact range, why?...cos for whatever reason, he wasnt the the usual confident J.Mc that we all know. He feints with a roll. In theory keeping the active defence going is good work but it was all the wrong stuff at the wrong time. Inoue was picking up on mcs patterns and u could see him thinking,'u feint with a roll again at the wrong range and ill have u' and thats what happens. So J.M is caught with a left hook to the side of the head. It was a decent shot but he wasnt all over the place. He then proceeds to back himself onto the ropes, the last thi g u shoukd be doing against inoue. He then throws shots himself whilst bringing his chin into the air. He then goes into covering up, eats a couple more shots in the process but whilst been good shots none of them looked massive shots. He then stays in the very last place he should be (on the ropes), he makes no attempt to move and then he gets waved off by the ref. For me, whilst inoue looked good there was no massive power shots landed. Jamie apart from been upset looked right as rain to me. His mind wasnt there for me, thats why he lost that fight. In the manner it happened it was J.M who threw it away. Not some mini incredible hulk that smashed him to pieces in 2 mins flat
Look at the finish on the ropes again. Pretty sure he's almost standing back sticking in three of four shots. All powerful. Yet i m pretty sure its technically the wrong way to generate power. I,d hate to see what he could muster up if he did put his full 100 percent power behind it. In fact every shot he threw had power behind them from the off. These guys are effortlessly throwing power shots with ease without needing to really get behind the shots. They mostly are generating that power without sitting down on their shots. Can anyone show me a British fighter that can do that. If it is just a natural power thing you,d think there would be at least one British guy that can do it. The British guys are training two and three times a day for world title fights. Putting in the hard work. And getting brutalized in a couple of rounds by guys that dont appear to be breaking a sweat. Its not like Japanese guys are known for being a supremely strong hard hitting nation of people either. I,d much rather someone can come out with something like these Japanese guys are training five times a day. Or they,ve learnt through some new age technique how you can generate big power in every single shot without really breaking a sweat. Cause what I m seeing is guys that are hitting extremely hard considering their not putting much into the shots. Can keep that power for twelve rounds if needed. Plus not really tyring throwing powerful shots. Their almost just going through the motions battering top ten guys with absolute ease. I still say that's where their fantastic balance is coming from. Their not needing to rely on their legs for power. Their powers mainly coming from their upperbody. If you get the chance watch golovkin/kovalev and the Japanese guy. They can and do put their legs into shots but mostly they are relying on their upperbody to generate that power. Then going look at haye and say mcanarenelli even mike Tyson. I m saying their power comes mainly from their legs. Like most of the big punchers we,ve seen through the years. Either putting their full body into it or relying on their legs for power. Now seeing guys turning up that are really hurting people...not needing to put much into the punch. Even when Tyson was knocking bums out in his early days...he was swinging. Or at least putting his weight behind the punch.
Find that a bit odd...cause there seems to be one or two on here that seem to be pretty much anti all things British if anything. Guys that almost seem to rejoice when the Brits fail. Its not about the Japanese guy beating McDonnell. I m not a fan of McDonnell. Only seen the guy fight a few times while I m waiting on other fighters coming on. What I,ve seen is hes a decent fighter. That's by the by tho. Its totally irrelevant to me that McDonnell's British or not. I don't really care he got knocked out in a round either. If it was haye or groves or say hatton I probably would be on here with sour grapes. Guys that I have followed/enjoyed watching over the years. The thing is what makes your point moot is I m a much bigger fan of golovkin/kovalev and now the Japanese guy than I,d ever be of McDonnell. What other fighters of the past generated fantastic power...with economical movement. Where they punched extremely hard with every punch. The competition we,re struggling to stand up to them without them breaking out of first gear. The power wasn't diminishing as a fight goes on. Guys really damaging guys without sitting down on their shots. Sparring partners are recording golovkin as punching like a cruiserweight. We,ve seen big punchers over the years but I can't think of many that we,re hurting guys easily without breaking out of first gear...and without putting much into their shots. Its all down to their incredible natural power. I think you,d need to be very nieve not to question it. Where are the Brits that can do that continually if it is just down to natural inherited power.
I m not sure your getting it its not about McDonnell. The only reason I mentioned the Brits is incase theirs a reasonable explanation for it. As in these Japanese guys are training five times a day as opposed to Brits training twice a day or they train a certain technique that make them punch like mules. Appears tho because these guys are your hero,s they don't need an explanation for it of any kind. With say mike Tyson there was an explanation behind it...they we,re training the kid like a professional from about 14 years old by a guy that knew exactly what he was doing. He was getting his body behind shots. But this new breed are turning up and very few people can stand up to them when their not even out of first gear. Unlike power punchers of the past...they don't really need to sit down on their shots. Even decent guys are getting completely bust up in a couple of rounds by their "normal power". Decent guys are visibly shaken by the very first punch landed...when their not even putting much into the shots. Theirs something very off with that. The opponents look like their bringing a knife to a gun fight. If its any consolation....Joshua without having a closer look at him I thinks the same. We all get that power varies...but these guys are incredible punchers considering their not putting much into the shots. They don't need to get their bodies/legs behind the punch to wreck half decent guys in a round or two. We,re talking about just normal mismatches...but we,re not talking about these guys beating up Latvian bums. Its been world champions and contenders as well. Kovalevs actually killed a man in the ring. All four are skilled guys but they all have one thing in common...and its not nationalities...all four are busting guys up mostly in a few rounds without even needing to sit down on their shots. . Not their full punch power or their power when their really getting their body behind it. Even the guy that turned up with PEDs in his system in canelo...was lucky to get a draw. He probably wasn't the bigger puncher that night either. These guys are so strong they naturally punch harder than guys on PEDs. I m a fan of watching all four of them tbh...but I,d be an idiot not to at least be slightly suspicious.
