Message from Grendal..... While you lot were grafting away at your various labours in drizzly Britannia, I swanned into the Wildcard Gym in Hollywood today, to be told by Freddy Roach that the boy McEwan is fighting in Fort Worth, Texas, live on ESPN,top of the bill, against Brian Vera on the 8th of May.
Of to San Diego now but will come back with more details in a few days. Its 91 degrees here today but cooler at the beach...... G

PS thanks Buncey, I knew you`d come across! No Scottish slandering for the next 3 weeks, well maybe 2....!

Nice fight! Vera's durable and tough but Craig's class should tell. However if he gets drawn into a war like Lee was then it will be a very difficult fight for McEwan.

Nice to see him headlining on ESPN as well, it will give him some exposure in the States.

Excellent fight. Vera is tough, capable and a strong guy who can punch with both hands.

Great for McEwan. Headlining a card like this will get him plenty of exposure if he hasn't already got it. And a step up in competition. Seems like he's going places.

Great fight for McEwen. Ive seen Vera against Lee and Kirkland, two of the most highly touted prospects at the weight, this will be a good way of judging how he is progressing. Vera looked like he had a chin carved from Stone against Kirkland, and against Lee he did well to not panic after being outboxed and nearly stopped early on. Might not be the most talented guy but he's one tough hombre.

Vera is a nutscase. It will take a lot of punches to KO him. McEwan UD.

Its a MASSIVE fight for Craig McEwan.

Headlining a card on ESPN I believe? Correct me if Im incorrect, but is Craig McEwan the first Scottish fighter to top a bill in America since Gary Jacobs brave performance against the great Pernell Whittaker all those years ago?

HUGE fight. Big test. & one I expect Craig to pass with flying colours:happy

    VERA, YOUR NEXT:bbb

Sounds a good fight and an interesting step up for Craig. No doubt he will show more class than the limited Lee and win this fight by UD.
