I realize McGirt has been involved with some big wins, but in recent years his 30-something fighters not only have lost, they weren't competitive at all.

Forrest last night reminded me of Tarver against Hopkins. Also, the first words out of Forrest's mouth last night during the post-fight interview were that he had a "long camp." I just wonder if Buddy is overtraining these guys at that stage in their careers.

Of course, it simply could be due to age, and Tarver for one did look better in his most recent fight against Woods.

    Still. ...

He's the bad choice for any fighter...I dunno, he's been the bad news bear for the past few years. Tarver, Codrington, McGirt Jr, now Forrest...when the big fight comes up, his fighters dont show up.

Mcgirts W-L record has been frightening as of the last couple years. And many of the fights not only did his fighter lose, they lost big time. I get the impression Mcgirt trains all his fighters to fight exactly the same way, and doesn't consider his fighters strengths & weaknesses to give them the best oppertunity to win.
