Anyone saw this fight?, I heard McGirt upset Joval by decision, anything worth mentioning there?, didn't watch this fight.
Heard it was a lot closer than the scores suggested. Buddy floored Joval twice in the 2nd but couldn't finish him off, and too often gave up his superior long range ability to get dragged into a slugging match. However, he did sharpen up for the last two rounds and seems to have deserved the win. It's a good one for him, after he had his first loss in his last fight, he made the decision to step up and take on a tougher opponent, and that all-or-nothing shot paid off for him. Sounds like Gary Wilcox got horribly ripped-off in the undercard fight against Nagy Aguilera, though...
McGirt Jr. defo made people forget about his ShowBox performance. His fight on FNF's was defo a great performance, Nice win over a top 10. (McGirt Jr. does tend to Gas a little attempting to go for a early K.O. but nothing that can't be worked out with some good OG roadwork)
mcgirt looked sharp coming off that ko loss to deleon 2 judges had it 99-89 which is what i had the fight too
he's like his dad ..he has the ability to box but seems like he gets bogged down in a war he dosn't have to fight
McGirt looked good. He controlled the action early and tagged Joval a few times. Joval had moments but McGirt clearly earned the decision. Wilcox looked O.K. considering he's a journeyman, but that decision wasn't really a huge surprise. No way Wilcox actually won.
McGirt didn't just win the fight, he CLEARLY won the fight. Knocked Joval down twice in the third round and while the rest of the fight was competitive, McGirt did more than enough to win. I scored it 97-91.
