I like Buddy, infact I think he gets way too much criticism thrown his way because of certain fighters shortcomings.

One of the best technical boxing matches ever, is McGirt vs Whitaker imo, that and McCallum vs Toney 1.

Most experts and trainers said Liston would stop Ali.

Mr. McGirt is dead on in his analysis. There is no chance in hell that Pacman could ever beat Mayweather. He just does not possess the required skill set. The only one that can defeat Mayweather is Floyd himself, perhaps being distracted by his many legal tribulations ala Tyson-Robin Givens.:bbb

Actually, DLH has repeatedly favored Mayweather in this matchup. Lots of footage out there to confirm this. Also, I never heard Nazim make a pick on this potential fight. How do you conclude that he 'seems to favor' Pacquiao?

People say Floyd beats Pac because he is a better fighter. The advantages Pacquiao has over Floyd are physical. The advantages Floyd has over Pac are mental and overall better boxing skill. He sets traps with his defense, he is the most accurate puncher and simultaneously the most elusive fighter in boxing. Floyd is also one of the fastest guys in the sport. Most importantly however, Floyd is also probably the smartest boxer in the sport. No one makes adjustments like he can; changing his style on the fly depending on what the opponent brings to the table.

At the end of the day, Pacquiao has two chances to beat Floyd. He either has to knock him out or outwork him, cause he absolutely will not outbox him. The only thing that makes Pacquiao different is that he has a better chance of accomplishing one of the two than any other fighter right now.

I believe Floyd has more advantages than Pacman in the ring, that is why if the fight is now ,Floyd may win by a close but clear decision. But I hope Pacman will win and win big!

Because he was a great fighter does not mean he is a great trainer. He is criticized for his training, not his fighting.

Isn't it funny that all these trainers/experts think mayweather beats pac except for the mayweather camp. Mayweather sr is scared as **** and doesn't want none of pacquaio and mayweather himself is picking up felonies to avoid pacquiao.:rofl:rofl:rofl

floyd already has a big enough edge, as affirmed by most here and by some experts. how much more edge does he really need?

I guess until he's sure as hell he will win the fight. Obviously he doesn't think he could beat pac since he kept asking for osdt and going on vacation then picking up felonies.

I guess this is good enough for the *****'s, sticking to imaginary fights and imaginary wins.

Yes a lot of people think PBF beats Pac, an opinion that cant be proven as Floyd wont do it. A lot of people think Floyd is a coward though and is scared to fight Pac, far worse.

The unorthodox unpredictable good offense coupled with speed has proven to trump orthodox proficiencyfor Pac over and over. Cotto is a sitting duck for Mayweather, Pac is not. Something will get through.

stylistically Pac has the best shot to beat Mayweather of anyone, but I have a feeling it will either work, or it won't. Noncompetitive fight. I lean towards Pac, these guys like McGirt just like "solid" boxing principal because that's what you have to train your fighters in. If you don't believe in it, your whole life as a trainer has been wasted teaching guys useless stuff. Tips on "how to neutralize a faster guy, how to counter a stronger guy effectively". McGirt sees that in Mayweather and believes it works. You don't want to train them to be like Pac, that visceral, raw speed, high power approach will get most people killed, so trainers don't like it, and they don't believe it can trump technical mastery. BUT SOMETIMES IT CAN.

On an amatuer level I don't know how many times I was told that I sucked, my technique was horrible, blah blah blah. Then competent guys are troubled because the unorthodoxy and speed and awkwardness itself creates problems, and I see these trainers not being able to look past Floyd's vast technical precision to see what happens when Pac actually lands consistently with power shots Floyd does not quite see, something that has never happened to him. Sure, his counter right will give pac some troubles, but I think Floyd is the one who will be deterred more easily than Pac.
