Would Saddler be a hill too high to climb for Terrible Terry?

I'm inclined to think so, but who can say with any degree of certainty?

Sad that something like Berbick-Cooney can garner six pages but we barely get a reply to this!

McGovern really isn’t the type of fighter I’d count out against Saddler. Wouldn’t necessarily pick him but he’s not someone you write off even in this match.

I'm not one for speculating on the outcome of cross era fantasy fights, but one thing to bear in mind for those that do, is that Saddler was naturally the bigger man.

For what's it is worth I rank Saddler higher at FW based solely on fights contested in that divison, whilst ranking McGovern higher based on their entire careers at all weights, both based on what they achieved in their respective eras.

While I understand your point, and I’m part of the ‘problem’ here, but few of us have the base of knowledge to intelligently discuss matchups like this.

I’m all about Saddler and I’m pretty sure I’ve watched all the film that’s out there (or at least that’s readily available) as he’s one of my favorite fighters, but I can’t intelligently discuss how he’d do in this because I only know bits and pieces about McGovern.

I know he beat some of the top guys of his day, including Gans and Dixon, and came out on the short end in a series with Young Corbett II. I know he’s listed at 5-3, which makes me skeptical that he could take Sandy, but I don’t have enough to base that on.
