Well honestly he deserve it most and aggregation during the fight was on some level. Alvarez couldn't able to catch up the momentum which earned him a defeat.

McGregor is the first and only titlist that UFC let keep a belt while fighting for another. When other titlists wanted to fight for a title in a different weightclass they were told they would be stripped of their title they already had.

Conor didn't earn his title shot at 155 though. Ferguson has won 9 straight at 155 and still may not get a shot. Would Conor have won 3 or 4 top level wins at 155 in a row like any other legit contender has to ? maybe, maybe not imo.

I'm a fan of his fighting style although his persona is getting tiresome these days but lets see him defend his titles 3/4/5 times before we put him up there with the greats. He did go life and death with Nate Diaz over 2 fights who is not a top 155 lber lets not forget. Diaz wins some loses some against the better guys at lightweight.

Aldo, Jones, and Johnson were shot down when they asked to fight for the title a weight class up. UFC saying how historic McGregor winning two titles is, is comical. It would have been done already if not for their favoritism.

Easy for people to criticise now. McGregor completely dismantled 2 good fighters in Aldo and Alvarez.

It's not a criticism of McGregor. Just pointing out the insignificance of McGregor holding two titles when UFC refused to let other Champs try the same. Don't refuse to let other fighters try and then act like McGregor doing it is such a big deal. He's the first two belt holder because Johnson, Aldo, and Jones weren't allowed to try.

He should give fw belt up now and bash the Lw division up for a couple of years, he dwarfed alvarez the other day and looked sensational so he can probably move up to ww eventually.

They weren't given the chance? Forgetting all of the personal problems that have held back Jones' career? He could have very well been given the chance if he wasn't such a screw up. Aldo likewise has been plagued by long periods of inactivity... DJ fought for the BW title and failed miserably, which is why he's dropped and stayed at flyweight. There's no way he'd beat Cruz or even Dillashaw. What McGregor did was special regardless of possible favoritism. I don't think it's a given it would have been replicated with any of those guys. Aldo and Jones maybe. But not a given.

I'd go so far as to say that Johnson vs Cruz or Dillahsaw, is a tougher fight comparatively than Eddie Alvarez. Dito for Aldo vs the Pettis that was on that streak, or Jones vs Miocic or Cain. Titles in seperate weight classes being held simultaneously in any combat sport is quite an accomplishment, just don't advertise it in a manner which suggests that you haven't been holding other fighters back from trying to accomplish the same thing. Favoritism is pure bullsh!t.

Conor has won 2 title fights in the ufc. When he has won as many as GSP/Silva/Jon Jones lets heap praise on him.

I give him credit for beating Aldo and Alvarez. Both guys had full camps, and he beat them fair and square. Let's see him fight some guys that are skilled bigger men though, as opposed to these midgets who are tailor made for his height and reach.

Agree with you. Beating both Aldo and Alvarez with ease was very impressive. I will be happy if he fights either Ferguson or Khabib next at 155.
