No question,Lamon was ready to get kayoed but good in the next round or two.Lamon was always a warrior and although he took the easier way out,I don't condem him for it.He got a nice retirement payday.
mcgirt did the right thing. as a wlad fan, i wanted to see a devastating ko, but as a lamon fan, im glad it was stopped. he just wasn't fighting back. i remember mcgirt threatened brewster in the sergei w/stopping the fight, but at least it was a give and take fight. this was a blowout from round 1 and when lamon went down in the 6th you could tell it was close to being over.
I think you're right. Lamon was not getting stronger, as McGirt said, and Wlad was. He was going to get stopped sooner rather than later. Premature call by McGirt, but a right one...if that makes sense.
