Not really sure what’s going on but there was an article (behind paywall) saying both are about to be liquidated https://m.belfasttelegraph.co.uk/sp...-company-set-to-be-liquidated/a370658135.html I don’t think Cyclone have done anything in while but wonder what’s happening with Shane then. HMRC were after them but that seems to have been resolved https://m.belfasttelegraph.co.uk/sp...igan-family-company-dismissed/a869582130.html
Good riddance. There is enough anecdotal evidence now to see that McGuigan senior is a scumbag and a crook. Time for him to step back from boxing and let his son take the limelight.
I did mention them loving a £££ in another thread and this happens. Not the first time they have closed down companies owing people thousands. These guys are genuinely leaches. Thing is , they are damn good at what they do. Shame .
Shane is a great trainer but the morality the family hold is shockingly bad. Good riddance (until the rebrand and launch)
Surely Shane has contemplated sacking his dad off? He’s lost Frampton, Taylor, Chantelle Cameron & Lee McGregor because of him.
I don't want to defend it, but there are numerous examples of promoters and managers over the past 40 years who open and close companies. The sad thing is that boxers often end up without getting paid.
You can expand that to "numerous examples of businesses across every sector". It's perfectly legal and explains the definition of limited liability companies. Doesn't make it morally right.
Happens every day and the directors only lose the value of the share capital which if 'limited by guarantee', usually a £1 per director. Banks at times give credit secured on personal assets and it is always the small suppliers/customers who get the royal shafting. Then next day same fooks set up a new company registration and off they go again with a trail of debt left behind. Morally all wrong but legal.
Got to say shyte but on reflection, I see good progress being made under Clement. 2-3 new players and there will be a title race this season beyond the league split for a change. Three cracking goals today and a good match to watch although we got done by the match officials with 2 red cards not issued to Johnson and Bernardo where they both should have had a 2nd yellow card. Not much between the teams now and a world of difference from that lad who rejoined Eastenders then left for Sunderland FC.
Remember Celtic became a new club when they became a new entity Celtic PLC. All that history under Jock Stein etc gone.
