When they were both champions, I'd have picked Nelson with great confidence; before they won their belts, I felt McGuigan's chances were better, although I would have still favoured Nelson. I felt at the time that McGuigan's performances gradually dropped off after Pedroza, I suspect his motivation dipped once he won the WBA belt, perhaps McGuigan felt it was mission accomplished?
