i think mosely had been reading the paul mccloskey guide to winning world titles. except he forgot to KO his opponent in the 2nd half of the fight, as dudey was obviosly on track to do

 

de la hoya is being a complete ******* ont witter to a guy he has known since he was 12 (mosley).

 

Went to sleep missed the Arce fight but will watch later on today but i heard Clarke say ''Up Next Pacquiao vs Mosley'' i thought sleep or watch? and opted for a nice kip. I woke up in 8th and saw him touching gloves everytime they made any form of movement. Rolled back over and slept on knowing it be a UD for Pac. Horrible fight in first place tbh....and by sounds the fight was **** poor.

I knew last night in Weigh In Mosley wanted to hug Pacquiao and thought can't be asked with this fight he's gonna go in and survive for 12 rounds and earn his $$$$.

 

Was a **** poor fight but it's what's expected really. Boxing needs to stop hyping **** fights because this is how they turn out. ****.

I've no doubt Manny could have stopped Mosley if he really wanted to but both were happy to just tap gloves, take the money and go the distance. That way Mosley gets another few pay days and this 'Pacquiao is the greatest of all time' hype myth can carry on.

Also thought Sky's commentary was once again terrible. Poor John Rawling tried his best not to criticise Manny Pacquiao or Mosley too much but after about 6 rounds.

Not that it mattered but Jim Watt's score card was off again as well. "It clearly wasn't a knockdown but let's call it anyway...". Manny won every round easily and then he says "he didn't dominate" :huh

Also the Prizefighter was as bad as expected too. Again, you can hype it and say it's gonna be this and that but at the end of the day, if the boxers can't box. You're not gonna get great boxing.

Mosely and that "touching gloves" lark is getting on my tits. Good sportsmanship is one thing but its a prizefight FFS. In his last 2 fights, baring the odd exception, he's just seemed happy to be there for a friendly spar.

 

TBH thats the right way to judge a fight. If the ref calls it the judge has score the round as if the knockdown was legit. Thats not to say it has to be a 10-8 though but I'd guess the round would have been given to Mosely by the ringside judges.

 

I don't agree with that and none of the judges did either. I know what you're saying but it would clearly be wrong to score the round to Mosley 10-8 when he barely even landed one punch in that round.

 

The judges should acknowledge the knockdown whether they agree with it or not. I've just looked at the cards and it looks like they didn't though (or thought Pac was dominant enough to cancel it out) personally I'd have scored it 10-9 Mosely or 10-10.

 

I thought it just meant a point had to be taken from the man kd'd. So as Mann won the round easy it wouldve been 10-9. Take a point and it ends up 9-9.

Crap fight, shoddy commentary, was a waste of my good sleeping time.

10-10 then. Mosley didn't do nearly enough to even get a share of the round but I do agree: if the ref calls a KD then you should give it....although say if it's a really close fight and that KD makes the difference: you and everyone in the world knows it's not a KD yet the ref calls it...what to do?

I'd do the right thing and ignore the ref. The law's an ass and common sense must prevail. We should never see fighters cheated out of verdicts. Rules are guidlines, to give structure but not to be followed without fail. That's how the Nazis started.

Theres the argument of the rules just being as a guideline and using your own judgement but theres also the fact that you can't change the rules of the sport when you feel like it. If a knockdown scores 2 points in boxing then it scores 2 points (just pointing out the counter-argument). Of course that doesn't mean the knocked down fighter can't dominate the rest of the round and win the points back but IMHO you should still award the 2 points even if you end up taking them away again.

I'll try and dig up a good article I found on judging fights (and I don't know how official it was) but IIRC the judge has to acknowledge the knockdown as genuine even if he thinks it wasn't but I guess its still up to him to use his judgement when handing the score in....?
