Not sure what you meant by the expression " which fish flops first? " If we're calling anyone a flopper, then the only one that it may possibly apply to is McNeely. Gerry Cooney on the other hand, was no flopper, and frankly he'd beat McNeely in what would most likely be a mismatch.
McNeely sucked, but who else ever fought Mike Tyson like that? This goes out to Moe Larry and curly... [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vW7LbDJSxsA[/ame]
You obviously dont know much about Cooney, other than the old White hope disrespectful jokes that people make of him.. Hed Ko Haye thats for sure and Id even make him close to even money against Wlad. Cooney ko 1 Mcneely
cooney is pretty big heavy has a dinamite left hook and would of fought with better competition. mcneeley has NOTHING over cooney. maybe ego and arrogance but apart form that i dont see anythign happning. tyson dropped him with a counterpunch. i doubt mcneeley gets passed 2. cooney jabs and drops a left hook to the chin which sends kev to the floor he gets up and wham gets dropped and cockroached. tommy morrison- cooney is a better matchup prolly
Yes this is a better matchup but Cooney still smokes Morrison too. Except Morrison might make it to the 3rd.
The difference that needs to be outlined here, is that Gerry Cooney was a serious contender with REAL ability, whereas Peter McNeeley was more of a club fighter type. Cooney dispatched several men who were of McNeely's discription with relative ease such as Phil Brown, Eddie Gregg, and John Denis.. In fact, some of those guys might even have been a tad better.
true but he is the only GWH who made some real noise. but i think morrison's understated boxing skills might set up some oppertunity's that some fighters couldnt do. a jab, left hand, right cross might stagger the defencivly loose cooney.
Cooney made a lot more noise than Morrison,No one ever gave Morrison a chance against the Holyfields,Bowes, and Lewisses he had his trip ups also getting kod by Mercer,Bennt, and quite a few tough fights with journeyman. Cooney on the other hand was undeafeated and blew past everyone he fought on the way up including Norton,Young,Lyle(although past it but still big names) Many people thought that hed upset Holmes for the title, where as not to many gave Morrison a chance against Lewis. Morrison was succeptible to being caught early, and those were Cooneys best rounds. If they were in the same era id clean up on anyone that thought Morrison would take this.
Gregg,Denis, and Brown were leagues above Mcneely lot more than a tad better. Mcneely would not make it past 4 rounds with any of those guys. Gregg and Brown were legit top 20 guys and Denis was a solid journeyman. Mcneely was more LIKE cLUBFIGHTER STATUS.
Yes you are correct , Clubfighter was being nice but then again a clubfighter could mean anywhere from a good tougman fighter(dont like to use the term bum) to a halfway decent fighter. Mcneeley falls somewhere in between but closer to Good toughman competitor.
