[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RzruqfRyk5Y[/ame] [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nm9V7N3t-Hg[/ame] This is me doing some bag work. Focused on technique and proper footwork. I am open to tips. Been watching a lot of Tony Margarito, one of my favorite fighters of all time. Both of us kind of lack in the athleticism department. Also been working on my right hook to the head, and left/right hooks to the body:good
Nice straight, sharp punching. I would only say that you need some head movement. Punch off the side of the line. Use your head movement to set up your punches. Other than that, lookin' good. You can dissect any fighter, no matter how great, on the bags and in sparring, fights, etc... It's how you perform overall though. Props.
nice. they got you guys bags out in the sandbox? Something the owner of a gym I went to when I was stationed in Mayport, Fl emphasized not stopping the bag with your hands, move around the bag and move back and forth as necessary to keep your distance from the bag so your punches go the correct distance.
use them just enough not to put myself out of position, i don't need to use exaggerated leg displays to generate power. especially in the case of some light bag work where I was focusing on proper punching technique and some light foot work, basically going at 75 percent just practicing my technique. Probably could involve my legs a little more though
proper punching technique does come from the legs. You don't need to dig in and throw full blown but proper punching comes up from the legs and hips into the shoulders.
I use my legs, but make sharp movements, as I don't need to crouch as much due to already being naturally heavy handed. you can tell that by watching my leg movement. I wasn't digging in as much as I normally do, but you can tell I am using my legs. Was on my toes a lot during this round also.
Yea, we have like 4 bags, 2 speed bags, and a floor to ceiling bag. Just wish I had a few more sparring partners. There ones I got I am the most experienced, and that isn't saying much, due to being inexperienced myself.
You've got no head movement & I bet you don't punch hard cos you don't transfer your weight between shots I love coming up against guys like you, open to the straight left counter (I'm a southpaw) every time. What weight are you? How many bouts have you got?
eh your one-two is looking ok lol. i was waiting for the 3-4 5-6. or starting from the body with a flurry and moving up. next time do more variation and more hit combos.
Not bad. You're pulling your lweft hand back a little low though. And when the bag comes forward to you don't wait for it to go back. In a fight that wouldn't happen either. Pivot to the side (or side step) and then attack with singles or a combo, then step back again and jab. Punches are good and straight.
I doubt it honestly, for someone with no head movement & throws mostly arm punches that's a good record. (I've had 12, won 11, ref stppd contest 4,) & there's no such thing as a KO in amateur boxing
