It's ok.Maybe more combination and more in fighting. What is camera with you recorded this.I must buy camera for my boxing workouts.
Did you expect to put a video on here & us all tell you, your the next mike tyson, sorry for not licking your ass, I've stopped people in the 1st round aswell, doesn't mean ****,
Charles that is poor to be honest, the punches are delivered fast but there is no transference of weight ! Ur general balance is bad ur too from footed, ur non punching hand is poorly placed - there is no creativity about what u are doing .... Thats not me getting on at you that's just what i see on the video ! Ur foot positioning when you hook is wrong too! It's not my job to correct you that's up to you but they would be the first things I'd look at. It's better then ylems but if I'm honest I expected a little better because despite my critisms of you previously there are some indications u might turn out ok! At the moment the odd decent shot you landed in your second fight looks a bit of a fluke. Good luck though and fair play for putting a vid up
They are right you posted a video for constructive critisism so whats the problem, your not using your legs so your not getting your hips rotating with the shots (yes, there's two of them), the reason your movement is awkward and slow is because you stand up tall, bend the knees and you will get more drive to move in any direction and to move off quicker, you can do the same by widemning your stance but bending the knees is better in my opinion, bending the knees will also help you get more drive into the rotation for the shots, if you dont fully turn your backheel so your toes face where the punch is going (pivot) then your lower half is stopping the shot towards the end, lots of joints and muscles both flexed and relaxed will then be resisting against or even stopping your shot, rather than the bag. if your flexible and box everyday then you build up the conditioning in terms of flexiblity to be able to let the shots go more efficiently, but the shots are still slowed and the resistance is there nontheless. I could go on and on about the benefits of bending your knees and why you need to do it but it would be easier if you do some bag work and come back with a new video, i suggest this time if your still focused on technique rather than power then maybe use your legs and bend your knees like you say you do when you punch with good technique, if your not punching with good technique on the bag focusing on technique, then when exactly are you punching with good technique? Your hands are all over the place, but thats a whole new thread in itself. when they leave your chin, its as briefly as possible and in straight lines to where theyre going and back, dont **** about, or '****' your hands, you have crazy big tells on every punch because of this, some instant KO ones on the body punches and all of your hooks, never drop your hands to the target for body shots BEND YOUR KNEE'S to bring them down, your totally open for straights to intercept all hooks and body shots when prompted, if not that then your telling them to cover the body or head and uppercut after, this stuff would get you slaughtered by any amateur worth watching down at the local club. never mind exeptionally quick, clever or strong fighters. some constructive critisism, take it or leave it it's there.
nice one mate keep it up nice straights like somebody said before you can even find problems with the best but if i had to give advice i would say use some headmovemeant, try a few different combos and also your front foot you sometime bring the heals down before the toes. you look to be pretty quick for a big guy aswell
Wayneflint has nailed most of the points, but having room for improvement is nothing to worry about. At least now you have things you can work on. For the non-punching hand, try holding a tennis ball against your chin whilst throwing shots with the other hand. It just drills your muscle memory into keeping that hand where it should be. Getting it back there after you throw the straight is just something you have to be conscious of until it sticks. Try throwing the jab to the body as well. Throw it exactly the same as you would to the head, just with your knees changing your height. If it feels awkward or off balance then your stance needs a little attention. Even if it's not a shot you would use in a fight, the jab to the body is a good reference for your balance. FEEL light on your feet, like your legs are the boss, not your shoulders. Just changing the way you think about your centre of gravity can make you implement it. A little upper body movement and dipping at the waist will allow you to explode your hips through those hooks. No matter how heavy handed you may be, if you can transfer more of your body weight through your hips you'll increase your power. Shadow boxing might be the best place to work on some of those things first, because when you aren't hitting anything, your balance is more important. Sometimes on the bag it's easy to regain your balance by pushing a shot off, but when your hitting thin air, you won't get away with it. But don't be disheartened, nobody is flawless on the bag.
Work on a bit of headmovement and as BB said, transferring that weight. Turn the hips into the straight left.
I wouldnt watch Margarito if your just starting out and trying to perfect and learn good technique if I were you..
