ya is cool but can you double dutch? lol My neighbor's kid is like 4 or 5, and was skipping the other day when I happened by on my way from school. She is like, "Hey, watch this!" And she shows me some of her new moves. The twice around, the backwards skip. I smile and tell her, "Ya know, I do a bit of skipping also." She rolls her eyes ina yeaaa riiight sorta way..."You don't skip...pfffft!" I go get my rope, and skipped with her for like 5 minutes. I swear, she looked at me like I was Santa or something. Just too cool to be true for her. Was kinda neat for me too.
Looks nice! Not taking anything away from you, because that stuff is obviously difficult. But is there any benefit of jumping like that, like doing all the swinging the rope stuff? Or is it basically the same training wise as just jumping normal?
There really is no benefit that I know of, it's mostly just for show, but anyone that has jumped rope for many years consistantly will tell you, it starts to get boring after a while, so instead of just jumping rope in a basic type of way, you try and do tricks to keep yourself motivated to keep jumping rope day in and day out. Some of what he did the video is pretty hard ****, it takes alot of hand and eye, as well as good foot movement to accomplish some of what he did, I could do some pretty cool tricks, but the thread starter got me beat I think.
u can just skip normal i quess varying the pace but in my gym its like a competition whos the best squats are good 4 leg strength i quess but it is seriously hurting my knees doing them
yeah the gym teaches you to flaunt what you got when it comes to skipping, seeing as skipping is the only consistency between boxers. therell always be different syles, speeds and strengths in the gym but ive noticed people like to be fancy footed when they skip. fairplay though, good skipping
How long did it take you to practice the squat one? I saw Duran do it on a video once and it looked boss, but after trying it a few times I got bored and reverted back to other stuff I can do better! As you say though, it really does work the thighs!
one of my old coaches used to make us do it for a minute straight as part of a stations drill. i'm not a small guy so it hurt. once i started getting it good, there was a real sense of accomplishment. that being said, i don't look half as fly as you do on the rope.
