I started boxing sometime around january and I've been boxing at my new gym for about 1 and half months now. It wasn't until i went to my new gym though that i had a consistent training schedule. I'm 21 years old and I train about 4 times a week. Today i decided to record how good i've gotten and what progress i made. I caught 7 rounds of 3 minute sparring and some minutes on the focus pad. I was sparring with 2 different guys, both taller than me and around my weight. I might be around 4-6 pounds heavier. For the 1st opponent i think my best round was the 3rd round, for my 2nd opponent i think my best was the 1st round and last round. It was hard going against the 2nd opponent. He has really good eyes and knows how to keep his distance, he's also only 16 years old too. In these fights i was mostly working on my slipping and defence though so theres not that much action. Anyways any advice, comments, praise, criticism, or whatever would be much appreciated. You guys are obv. new to sparring and boxing, so just keep at it. It takes a while. You are kinda squared up, and should be trying to throw more punches. You move okay, and it will just get better as you work on your footwork. Sometimes when you are moving and getting low, you're leaving your head pretty exposed for anyone who is ready for it. There's other things, but really, just listen to your coaches and they'll work out the kinks. We ALL got kinks. But this is what learning is all about, and it is good you are on here open-minded and looking for advice on improving. It'll come.
