He beat Clottey for me by a couple of points. He did ****ing well to win the fight with that cut. He wouldn'tve ran for the last couple of rounds if he had the cut. Clottey only has himself to blame for not seizing the moment. But respect to JC because he put up a decent show and is a quality fighter. The body slam was a bit naughty but JC was acting like he'd been shot, it's boxing not tiddlywinks.

Cotto v Pac with no cuts for Cotto is a very, very close fight. Pac's speed is the key but Cotto can hurt him and is nowhere near the spent forces that were DLH and Hatton.

My Cotto rant done. Was just sick of seeing the stick he was taking.

have you thought cotto might be in decline as well?....he didn't look like the beast we once knew, hell.....cotto was getting outobxed by a slow clottey the first 3 rounds, and got lucky that clottey was off balanced and got a knockdown against him.......

I think cotto has had a rough year, but still i was kinda takin' back by his "loss" of his game.

Agreed. It's becoming very apparent. His trainers haven't even been good conditioners. He still seems to have stamina issues. He slowed a lot as the fight progressed vs Clottey.

Of course he is fast. He doesn't hit as hard as Cotto but his hands were faster. And Cotto is no slow he matched Mosley speed and I'm sure he can match it again.

Cotto had a cut! He's not going to go charging in with one eye now is he, he done well to box with one eye and basically a cut that could of stopped the fight at any moment. Cotto outboxed Clottey for the first 3 rounds, not the other way around. If there was no cut then Cotto would have won the fight easily and in a good fasion im sure.

Yes but it was. It's obvious that Cotto was going to rip him apart without the cut. He won with such a bad cut imagine without it.

sure the cut effected cotto, but look at marquez who was cut badly against pac in the second fight, and by most observers schooled pac most of that fight, thats what makes me think its more then just the cut.....

also too clottey took over that fight after round 7 and was his to lose after round 9......he fatigued, and cotto did enough to win the championship rounds.....thats what i saw

People react in different ways, Juan Diaz nearly has a heart attack at the first sign of blood

I saw almost the same thing in fact. As for the second Pac Marquez fight It's been a while that I haven't watched but I remember Pac also being cut very badly in the end of the fight. And in the round that the cut opened Pac was in survival mode!! And after the fight he acknowledge that the cut was a big problem for him. It's hard for everyone to fight with big cuts like this so you must count them when you judge a performance

Now compare the pac cut and the marque cut to the dam huge cut that Cotto had all over his eyebrow.
