Am I wrong in assuming he is on the undercard of the Berto card on January 17? That this will be his HBO debut? I've seen this kid fight three times, and from what I've seen, I've been pretty impressed. Have always wondered how long it would be before he ventured into the spotlight. I'm hoping he does well.
Pretty sure he has been on Shobox and ESPN...I mean ive seen him on T.V. Nothing special from the stuff Ive seen but he will get people's attention if he keeps knocking cats out. I never saw his last fight at 154..how was he? Show any signs of the weight affecting him? He should be a live outside chance against Martinez.
But it is his HBO debut, no? From what I have seen, he does nothing great, but is very very good at everything he does. He has a great offensive arsenal and uses just about every punch in the book. He also usually displays some pretty slick defense. I like what I've seen. All of the fights I saw were pretty exciting. I did not see it either, so I cannot comment, but for what it's worth I always thought he was better suited for 154. I hope he beats him. I think he can, but this is a step up, for sure.
I like green good puncher that can also box. Havn't seen much of martinez but read somewhere he is a tough nut. Also read he is the most advoided guy in light middleweight. Sounds like a bad mach up for a inexperienced Green but he has to step up sometime. Light-middleweight has some great prospects with green kirkland and Angulo
When I first heard Green was on the Berto under card, I erroneously assumed it was a fight designed to showcase his talents. I had not then realized that this was a fight wherein Green was expected to lose, making this all the more interesting for me. I'm not too familiar with Martinez myself. Seems like a risky step-up by Green, which I applaud.
I think they are throwing green to the lions. It is for the interim wbu belt but still alot of risk for the reward. This imo is a worse choice of match than Angulo Vs Mayorga from what i have read the martinez guy is in his prime.
I wish I had seen more of Martinez to better gauge this fight, but even still, I'm not sure what I've seen of Green is quite enough to assess where he's at, either.
I'm pulling for Green, but have no idea if he will win. In fact, I may transform this into a Mean Joe Green Express! :smoke
I've no horse in he race, but I'm interested to see this since I don't know much about either fighter and it sounds like Green knows how to put on a good show. 154's starting to look a little brighter these days.
Greene has been on ESPN, FSN NY and Showtime before but all things considered it will likely be his HBO debut. I'm hot and cold on Greene. Sometimes he looks like a future P4P stud and other times he looks like a flustered little boy with no discipline. Personally I think he's got a little bit of Zab Judah/Carlos Quintana in him.
seen him fight in person.... hes got talent but in the fight i saw he should have took out his opponent earlier
Seen him a few times before. Looks talented, but also looks a bit limited. We'll see if he can refine himself into a better fighter in the future.
