    Don’t need to. 115-114 is an oddball score that would never be common

    115-113 however would be more accurate

    It's one round swing either way, but I have looked it up already.

    It’s fine. It doesn’t matter.

    The majority of fans, writers, fighters had GGG winning, but their opinions aren’t official.

    It it what it is.

    Canelo may take the cake. Had he legitimately taken 3 more rounds in that fight vs Floyd, he'd have walked out with the W. In three fights (Floyd, GGG 1&2) comprising nine score cards, 3 judges total voted against Canelo.

    Boxing knows Canelo is the new money fighter, and they don't want to wreck that gravy train. It's just like how the NBA, at least from when I grew up in the Jordan era, gave him all the calls whether he actually needed them or not.

    I'm a big fan of punch stats, but this is one of the rare fights where total punches, or most punches landed per round don't tell the whole story.
    That is precisely why you can't just go on compubox numbers for this fight. GGG landed more punches, mostly jabs, but Canelo landed more power punches. It's up to the viewer to decide how damaging the power shots were in relation to the jabs. All 12 rounds were pretty close, so it's whatever you like in there. Even if you think one of the guys edged things in terms of damage, you still have defense, effective aggression, and ring generalship to factor in. You might give Canelo a round for going forward or you might give GGG the round for controlling Canelo with his jab or footwork.

    How do you get those scores without any 10-8 rounds or penalties? I'd understand 115-113 or 116-112, but both of these are off. ****in' nitwits, the both of them.

    Both would be with 1 round scored 10-10

    I had 116\112 Canelo last night....Watched again today and ended up with 115\113 STILL CANELO
    I just can't see GGG with a win but the.rounds are so FKN close you can debate most of the rounds as they were way tighter than the first fight WHICH GGG WON.

    116\112 Maybe too wide for Canelo but dang he pressed the action
    115\113 Seems closer in my mind now for Canelo yet 114\114 might please both sides as these guys fought their heart out however I stand by my scores and either way CANELO WON

    Here's the old thread with the media and boxers scorecards for the first fight.
    https://www.boxingforum24.com/threads/ggg-canelo-media-scorecards-compubox.593770/
    About 23 had it 116-112 for Golovkin and 19 had it 115-113 for Golovkin. I only see one guy scoring it 115-114 like No Neck said. There were more people scoring it 117-111 or 118-110 for Golovkin. Although there were 21 draws. So the most common scores were 116-112, then 114-114, then 115-113.

    TOTALS through post #184 of the thread

    116 = GGG won
    021 = Draw
    009 = Canelo won [includes 2 Golden Boy promoters]

    116/146 = 79% had GGG winning the fight.
    021/146 = 15% had a draw.
    009/146 = 06% had Canelo winning the fight.

    Anyone who was scoring the early rounds for GGG when he was getting outmuscled and outpunched while throwing jabs and looking to minimize exchanges is clearly allowing their hatred for Canelo to turn them into the equivalent of a religious fanatic who sees Mother Mary in every croissant they crack open. I thought GGG won the fight by a point, but if you gave GGG eight rounds then you are an idiot.
