Medicine Balls

  1. Do they use medicine balls in the gym where you train?

What type of workouts are the medicine balls used for?

Today at my gym, we did chest pushes with them.

  5. How many did you do in each set, and how many sets?

I'm not sure what that is supposed to mean. I'm also pretty certain that, going back in history, they were used much more than they are today.

    Yes.

    Med-Ball twists, throws, slams etc.

I like them. They definitely have a purpose.

  10. What it meant was in hard times people didn't have much money.

For example, when James Braddock's family were going hungry and cold he wouldn't have been heading off to town to buy a medicine ball. After he won the title he could have bought his own gym. But that's a tale better suited to a different forum.

we used to lie on our backs with the medicine ball between the feet and bring the ball all the way over the head. ab smashes as well.that was in the 70's
we still use them where I coach but the ab smashes seem to have been forgotten.
