    IBO champion Hlatshwayo faces Medley October 12
    IBO welterweight world champion Isaac Hlatshwayo from South Africa will defend his title against undefeated Robert Medley on October 12 in the outdoor pavilion at Panthers World of Entertainment in Penrith, Australia.

    29 year-old Hlatshwayo 26-1 (9) from Soweto won the vacant IBO belt with a unanimous points decision win over fellow countryman Joseph Makaringe on May 12.

    This will be the first world title fight for 26 year-old Medley 18-0 (12) from Oakdale, NSW.

    Hlatshwayo is a great test for him.
    Medley has the height & reach, so lets hope he can pull it off.

    It is a good start, although I wouldn't call it a true world title. IBO is probably the next biggest sanctioning body after the other Major 4 (WBC,WBA, IBF & WBO). Its still better then the WBF :(

    The IBO world title isn't the major interest for me, its only marginally better than winning a regional title.
    The quality of opponent is what impresses me.
    Hlatshwayo is a massive step in the right direction for Medley, & after 18 fights, you gotta say now is his time.
    Medley wins this impressively & he is top 20 at Welterweight in the world.:happy
