James Walsh spoke to BritMMA.co.uk about a whole host of topics, including his role with fighters and opinion on the implementation of a new governing body. Below is an insight as to how his management works.

"My goal is to keep building my roster in the USA," he admitted. "It's a totally different game out there. I don't want to sound like I'm in this for money, because anyone who knows me that isn't the case; I take zero percent off any of my UK fighters until they are making good money themselves, which normally is when they get to USA, i.e. Brad.

"But in the USA, you can have a regular show which is on TV, and sponsors will want to pay to get their brand on fighters. Fighters do well on smaller shows out there, and a managers' work can be paid off. In the UK, I only have a select few fighters, because it's just as hard work, if not harder to get sponsors for UK shows, and there is very little reward in it, unless your ripping your fighter off with a crazy percentage.

"This isn't common practice anywhere, it's just something I do, and I think I am the only manager that does this. like I said, it's not about money, but it's got to the point, that I need to reward my hard work. The UK cant do this, so the USA is my target."
