I met Floyd at a Halloween party he hosted at Foxwoods Casino. My gf won tickets for a personal meet and greet. I always thought his over the top arrogance was a little but if an act, but it's real. He was a *****. It was on his contract that he was meeting with fans who won the meet and greet, but he couldn't be bothered to shake hands, say what's up, nothing. After waiting for 3 hours, we were ushered up to his VIP, with his crew. He's told that we are there, he walks up, no hello, poses for a picture, turns his back to us and goes back to his people.

That's the difference right there between Floyd and someone like Muhammad Ali.

I was lucky enough to meet Ali on 2 separate occasions back when he was top of the world.
Nothing was too much trouble for that guy where fans were concerned, no matter how many were vying for a place.

If Floyd really wants to get legendary status he has some way to go to match people like Ali for being fan friendly.

I was also at a boxing show in Missouri several years ago when Bermane Stiverne fought Ray Austin. There was a huge flash flood during and after the show, and a lot of people were trapped at the arena. Stiverne was just hanging out in the back with everyone. Really nice guy, too. Lucas Matthysse was there with his team as well. But they were kind of off on their own. I don't think most of them spoke English. When a ride Stiverne called to take him to his hotel made it thru the water ... he personally invited Matthysse and his crew to ride along with him. (Just kind of made hand gestures inviting them.) They seemed very appreciative. I thought it was a nice gesture on his part. A couple of other fighters were still there, too, including Devon Alexander, Ray Austin, Roy Jones, etc., and he didn't invite any of them. Seemed like he invited the guy who was feeling like the "outsider." Very cool.

Was that the Alexander-Matthysse fight in St Charles, MO in 2011? I was there too. Me and my friend bolted out of there as soon as it was over to try and beat the rain. I totally forgot that Stiverne fought that night. Knowing what you said I wish we would have stuck around instead of leaving right after the robbery of Matthysse was announced.
