My story is this, I was like 10-11 and im in this fancy hotel pool in Pr. I see Tito Trinidad playing pool basketball with some friends. My Dad was standing in the edge of the pool and Tito thought my dad was one of his friends so he pulled him into the pool and then apologized. My dad acted like he was gonna punch Tito for doing that but it was a joke. Later we talked together and i couldn't resist and asked when he was fighting De la hoya
I've posted this before, so for those of you who've read it, bear with me. For those who haven't, hope you'll enjoy: Rocky Graziano was my rabbi at Stillmans gym. Like every other kid in the neighborhood, we fought to carry his gym bag. He was the Pied Piper -- a kid, just bigger. He looked, dressed and talked like every guy that hung on the corner. The first time I talked to him was when I cut fourth grade and took trains 'n a bus to Stillmans. I stood in the gym entrance and watched Rocky hit a speed bag while he smoked a cigarette. He finally looked down. "Why ain't you in school?" "Why ain't you?" I said He roared with laughter, hoisted me on his shoulders and introduced me to every ATG in the gym.
David Tua in Auckland in 1999 as a Kid and in 2009, always humble and polite, one of the humblest guys you could meet.
Living in las vegas has its perks. May weather comes to my office once a week( not to see me) I've seen Zab Judah.real nice guy. Seems like he's given himself to god. Whenever Amir fights in Vegas he comes to the mosque. Seen and spoken to him a twice real humble guy but has a huge entourage. I've seen Tyson plenty of times in the clubs. He's hella cool will shake your hand take pics. I saw Ricardo mayorga once before the DLH fight he had a beer in his hand the night before. Others I've met: Vanderlei silva Forrest griffin Dana white
I see Victor Ortiz many times each day Look out your window you'll probally see him This content is protected
Lol seeing it is enough, I did see him on the build up before his fight with Cameron where he punched a hole in the big bag.
I met Floyd jr. in Grand Rapids where I'm from. The first time I didn't really meet him, it was him with his (then much smaller) entourage in 2005. He came off like an ******* surrounded by his crew. The second time I got to talk to him since I was connected to a local high school through college. Chatted with him for about 10 minutes before he went out to talk to some middle school/high school kids. He was really funny and approachable. I told him I'd been to see him against Philip N'Dou and I'd loved it. And I said that if he beat Manny and Sergio THEN he would be the greatest ever. He was really cool about that, he laughed and said he was already the best ever. He was really chill around the students, handing out fifty dollar bill and cracking jokes and stuff. I definitely think the jerk behavior we see from him is put on or the result of insecurity. When he's pretty much by himself he comes of as nice in a more genuine way than Ray Leonard did for example. Also met Sucra Ray Oliveira. Really cool dude. I met Teddy Atlas before a FNF show and got him to sign his autobiography for my dad. Like Floyd he's much nicer in person than he comes off on TV.
Does Mayorga seem as antagonizing in real life? I wouldn't be able to stop myself from chatting to a master troll like Mayorga if I saw him in person.
Nothing too excited on my end. Attended the same mass as Pacquiao in Manila...ha ha, was a few feet away but couldn't break the crowd. Later saw him at a mall going for dinner while I was dining. Met George Chuvalo a few months ago at an event. Steve Molitor (former IBF Jr. featherweight champ) was also there and the Hilton brothers - might not be well known here, but definitely well known Canadian pros. Steve seemed super nice, and was complimenting me on my win + fight of the night.
I met Vinny Paz seem very cool at a fight where Demetrius Andrade was the main card. Shook hands with Andrade after his fight. Seem very humble and quiet, the kid was literally walking around by himself shaking hands with everyone and then sat with his mother to watch the rest of the fights on that night. Not as known by many but a local fighter from my town Edwin Santana who fought Casamayor and Kevin Kelley is a very cool dude. The city gaved him a job and once in a while he comes over and chills with the fam. Though I haven't met him yet i'll be getting a sign t-shirt " I believe in clean sports" by Jean Pascal. Recently his brother started working with me and is heading to Canada this weekend.
