Someone in another thread mentioned a unification night and i was just wondering.. what stops them havin haye v wlad khan v judah mayweather v ortiz pacquiao v marquez III on the same night i know its promoters and negotations, but could somethin like this never happen in the future?
i meant in the fact they just get fights made at different times.. but in future couldnt they all make there fights fir the same night i just think maybe whats wrong with boxin is you have to wait about 3/4 months a time for the best fighters too fight i know i find it deflatin when mayweather fights then you know youve about 12 month too wait then about 4 for pac and khan
Money!! each of those match ups could be a seperate ppv which would generate a lot more money seperately than if they all appeared on the same night for $50/ £15. Lets say for instance if each fight had 1 million ppv's seperately, that would be 4 million $50, if it was all on the same night not many would pay $200 to watch those 4 because it is to expensive. So they would lose money.
agreed, that's 4 x $50/£15 events... together, that makes $200/£60 for four events... Now, if you think about it, the core boxing audience will buy all four, the semi-type fans will maybe buy half... and the casual will barely buy one... Based on ONE night, most casual/semi fans will not consider forking out that much money. Ultimately, to cut a long story short, they make a LOT more money staging them as separate events... That doesn't even bring into play the fact that there are too many promoters involved, all wanting to promote it in their own way - and all squabbling about the main event etc...etc.. - When each of those fights could be a main event on it's own. It's a great idea in theory, but in reality, the only people who have anything to gain from it would be the fans.. and heaven forbid boxing taking its fans into account!
i know this may sound awful...but seriously...if u think a card like this is even a remote possibility....or dont even understand why it cant happen before posing the question on a message board....then you dont really know much about the fight game
haha i known from readin this forum before posting there'd be idiots on here just waitin too slate me.. let me explain i know the liklihood of it happenin is non existant i was just asking why.. i guessed the money too.. my idea was if they did that it would attract more fans meanin more money and it MAY have balanced itself out now just because i dont know how PROMOTERS work doesnt mean i kno nothing about boxing.. thanks everyone for the decent replies.. people actin funny about it.. **** OFF
honestly...wasnt tryin to be a dick...just saying though...if u follow the game close enough you should have a good idea of why this isnt possible....but you are right...in the ring knowledge is different from the business....doesnt mean you dont know anything about boxing
This would never work. Pacquiao, Mayweather, and Wlad command too high of a payday each. This thing would have to do like 10 million buys for each of them to get the amount of money that they would be able to make headlining their own card.
Back when King was the biggest promoter in the sport in the 90's, there were some fight cards not quite as good as that but they were a lot better than anything we get today.
