The Gold Coast is great. So many pros, and the only real cons about the area are teke and Ash living there.

Doomeddisciple, what kind of music do you play?

    Go easy champ.

We are the reason most sports are alive. NO ONE IN OZ GOES TO SPORT MORE THAN VICTORIANS.

    Thats Fact.

Just because some big wig Journo that normally writes about Horse Racing and Football write about Boxing.

Doesnt make all us Mexicans as my dad calls us, As bad as some journo.

Well what is established is that more Victorians go to AFL and one day cricket than any others - the rest is up for debate! :p

Soccer. **** When Tszyu fought Lieja at the Dome 30,000 Victorians went.

30,000 to Boxing. You would never get that in Sydney and he lives there.

I went to Victory vs Sydney FC and 50,000 were there and it was during the regular season.

Been the G on Boxing day with 90,000 and went when i was a kid to a one dayer that the official attendance was no ****.

107,000. Dean Jones went sick that day.

Average attendance for Rugby match in sydney would be 20,000.

Average attendance for AFL in Melbourne would be about 38,000.
Even socceroo players say that crowds dont really show up for even friendlies etc but if you play at the MCG or in Melbourne you get 70,000.

Victorians turning up to sporting events helps them escape the reality of living in Victoria.

The numbers say it all Boppa - doesn't matter which sport - and that includes their silly form of 'football' where it's more likely they'll kick each other (ala Jonathan Thurstan) than the ball.

Like many Vic sports fans I've been amongst the biggest crowds at the Dome inc Australia vs Brittish Lions, various Victory games inc grand finals. Grand finals at the 'G' with 100,000 plus on many occassions, big Boxing Day crowds etc, etc.

The only significant crowd you get for anything in Sydney is peak hour traffic and the Ma De Gras! Brisbane not even that.

Mexicans will turn up to anything though. Organize a kids hop, step, jump tournament, and you'd probably get 10,000 turn up to that.

When it comes to producing sports stars though, it's a different story. :yep
