Appreciate the quote. But, that doesn't say they banned it simply because a lot of athletes used it. It obviously has performance benefits. Otherwise, so many athletes wouldn't be using it. What does it do? Improve stamina, basically.

Why would you have to get an "enormous advantage", for a drug to be a performance enhancer? It is what it is. Evidently, to an athlete that uses it, the effects are significant enough to warrant repeated use, and it's quite popular for that reason, evidently. And it obviously provides more of an effect than other lower tier supplements. No, as I said, it's not HGH or PEDs in that same class. But, it could be considered a PED.
