    i disagree. if you listen to his interviews afterward, he never lost his confidence and kept believing he was still the same and would avenge his loss, even when everyone knew he was done and should have retired. his body was just broken after that fight.

    Watch hbo legendary nights on utube . You see taylor on the couch watching the fight over. He never got over the loss. He was a great fighter. At his peak defo the most talented in his division. I believe he beat chavez and most real fans do too. Much respect to him i loved to watch him fight.such a shame

    By the way chavez took a heck of a beating in that fight too.

    yeah.that was like bowe/holyfield I.the fighters were never going to be the same after that.

    no he wouldn't have.after that night meldrick was done.i just wish he could've got that win.

    I think he probs would have. The loss finished him more mentally i think. But he took a hell of a beating. If he won he was still undefeated and thsts a huge boost to a fighters confidence he would have been on top of the p4p rankings. The best in the world. So i think he would have performed better but the fight would have still done some damage

    Do i think if he won the first fight he would hav beaten chavez in a the rematch no i dont. I dont think his body would go through that again.
