Hawk would swarm him in the end, but not without a knockdown or two in the process from Taylor.

it is hard to say. Meldrick had that handspeed where he landed at will, yet he was always in punching range of whom he fought. Even Meekins swelled him up.. I think it would be Meldrick by 12 round decision.

A good read. I am leaning this way.

You are willing to risk so much on a guy who couldn't beat a fading, out-of-weight Arguello without a last minute coke infusion? ;)

Taylor does better than people think over 12, and I like his chances over that distance. I don't think Pryor goes to the body enough, and those body shots were really draining to Taylor in a variety of ways. It led to what occurred at the end of the fight. Without that, I think the fight looks different. Over 15, that might be a bridge too far for Taylor here

How am I disagreeing? I am mentioning pros and cons, yet the pros outweight the negatives with Meldrick usually. I am saying in short. Meldrick was hit a lot because he was in range but he was fast. I suspect it is a 12 round fight, and in my mind Pryor is a little bit overrated. He did not have a long career. Arguello is a great win and Cervantes also, but I think Taylor to me had quicker hands on the inside and if he got the momentum going he could edge Pryor by decision.

Simple - you picked Pryor in one of your alts and Taylor in the other.

LOL... If he can't even see how he was disagreeing with himself, and ever argues that point, we don't have much hope for other more salient points.

Ok I see what you are talking about. I didn't see the top post. Well I didn't know we had to be stubborn and stick to our old opinions. I am always learning and on that fight it has always been pickem to me. I might pick Pryor later on in 2027. In recent years I have felt Pryor has been overrated, and a little by me also in the past. But time goes on and on that fight. I just do not know. Pryor did not have a long career. I would have loved to have seen the fight. Cervantes as a good win. Hometown advantage. How old was Cervantes. Even on recent fights like Spence vs. Garcia, when I first heard it I thought maybe Spence would stop him ,yet I always thought maybe Garcia would do better than people thought and maybe win. That is why we are into boxing. If every fight was a sure thing, why even watch them. Meldrick was sharp and strong physically also. The early rounds matter in this fight. Meldrick could very well take the fight early and get the momentum. That is the key. I really do not know who would win that fight. For the record, for Chavez vs. Taylor 1- in 1990 I picked Chavez to win and I was surprised that Taylor was doing as well as he was. Handspeed is the most important commodity in fights like that, but not everything. As Chavez showed.
