Who would win in this high-speed battle?

I say Floyd. He had the longer reach, the better defense, and the higher ring IQ. Taylor wasn't the smartest fighter. We're talking about a guy who decided to stand and trade with Chavez.

    I can see a pre-Chavez,Taylor out-working Mayweather.

Mayweather's better sense of timing, distance and footwork make the difference for a decision win.

Actually, standing in the pocket and outspeeding Julio worked well at times. If he tried to use lateral movement constantly he would have gassed and Chavez would have brutalized his body. Taylor's game wasn't lateral movement.

    That said.

I think Floyd would find a way to nullify him.

Floyd needs to be fairly busy thought because Taylor could put forth a very high work rate.

I think Floyd would counter enough to get a close decision.
