Meldrick never fought someone like Mayweather...but Mayweather most definitely did not fight anyone like Meldrick.

I mean you could combine elements of Davis and McGirt, and perhaps make some comparisons.

I have thought about this one a lot over the years...I think Floyd is the better fighter but I really dont know how he would deal with Taylor's style and speed.
If Castillo could land that many punches on him with intelligent pressure, then I cant see why Taylor cant do better.

    I dont know DINAMITA.

Taylor by decision....PBF falls behind early and just can't catch up.

The Taylor that beat McGirt would be HELL for Floyd. Of course, with Floyd's great skill and smarts he'd make it close, but I think Mel would win a decision.

Very close & interesting fight, Id pay to see that one.
I lean towards Mayweather based on the defense & clean punching but it would likely be a contraversial SD where opinions are split due to styles.
I dont see a KO in this one.

I like Meldrick. I just think His speed, workrate, and strength would trouble Floyd. Floyd would have plenty of counterpunching opportunities but I think Meldrick would bank too many rounds with his workrate.

Taylor beats mayweather on speed and workrate. Floyd would be focusing too much on defense, which would cost him many rounds and the fight.

Mayweather at 140 was the best of his time by a long shot but against other legends he isnt effective. At this weight he had lost alot of what made him sucessful in his early career in his great movement and excellant footspeed.

I dosent help Taylor is faster than him so he will find it hard to counter punch him so i really dont see a way he wins.

Mayweather by a very very close decision. Would have been a really competetive fight, but I just see Floyd doing what he always does and managing to get a few more shots off than his opponent is capable of getting off on him.

Mayweather schools him, SIMPLE :D Not an easy fight, but Taylor is open, his speed would see him land a few but Floyd's defense makes more miss and hit gloves while he lands clean flush counters. Same reasons FMJ beats Pacquaio and Mosley really, Mayweather 8-4 UD

BTW both fighters have overrated speed

how can you say Taylor has overrated speed he is genuinly fast unless HBO puts it on FFW every time he is on i dont see how it is overrated

also FMJ dosnet have the same movement at LWW Taylor could come in with fast flurries and step out agian quite easily

I'd have to favor Floyd. He'd land the harder, cleaner counter punches throughout the bout on the inside, was a smarter, more adaptable fighter on the outside, and was an overall better ring technician. That's not to say that Taylor is incapable of beating him, but I wouldn't favor him.
