    Excellent posts, UliUli.

    To briefly summarise my own thoughts;

    • Everyone would agree Taylor was in no position to continue, shouldn't have taken any more punches & didn't respond adequately to Steele's questions.
    • The "Chavez didn't have enough time to land any more punches" arguement, weak to begin with, was blown apart by Mosley's devastating last second KO of Mayorga.
    • Chavez had "earned" & "deserved" the stoppage as much as Taylor "deserved" to last the distance. Another arguement which makes no sense to begin with.
Allowing Taylor to continue would've been IMMORAL at best & CRIMINAL at worst. Anyone who argues otherwise is a ****ing twat.

In the post fight interview with Steele, Steele said he could see how much damage Taylor was absorbing. He was there to protect the fighters. Hell, I saw the fight on tape, and I could see how much punishment Taylor was absorbing...Steele being inches away from the thudding punches knew exactly what condition Taylor was in.

As a matter of fact, had Steele stopped the fight in round 10, maybe taylor wouldn't have gotten brain damage, and lost his prime that night, and he would have possibly gone on to be a champion and make money, BUT Taylor had too much heart...

I doubt Steele one bit, he probably felt like stopping the fight earlier just to save this poor kid, but he never had the opportunity untill the 12th, when one more punch could have put Taylor to his grave.

PLEASE, EXPLAIN HOW YOU JUSTIFY THAT COMMENT????

1.Was there atleast a couple seconds on the clock???
2.Can a fighter get KO in one second?
3.Is the length of an entire fight 36 mins?
    4.Should Refs give fighters favors?
5.Did Taylor know wtf was going on when Steele was giving him the count?
5.If he didn't know, then can we say he was not there?

6.Where in the RULES does it say that if a fighter is going to win the fight, you can waste time untill the bell rings????

Answer these questions with FACTS and LOGIC.

like i said we could go back and forth on this all day. bottom line is hindsight is 20/20 . noone knew how bad taylor was til AFTER the fight. im keeping it in context of the fight. he was robbed. and like i mentioned before not the first time steele has been involved with controversy.

Then why did Steele give an accurate account of what he saw Taylor absorb throughout the fight immediately after the fight finished???

    Steele knew better than all!

Most high profile refs and judges are at one time or another, but that doesn't change what are FACTS.

Fact 1. Taylor was beaten so bad he never competely recovered.
Fact 2. Taylor was out on his feet after standing up.
Fact 3. Taylor was unable to continue.
Fact 4. Chavez had enough time to land atleast one more punch.
Fact 5. Taylor didn't know Steele gave him a Count, asked im if he was okay, and said anything to him.

Now you're telling me taylor wasn't KO, and could have defended himself from another Chavez Punch???? :-(

Somehow I think the ending of Bute-Andrade 1 changed the opinion of many people about the Taylor-Chavez controversy.

Legit stoppage. Meldrick didn't respond with a sense of urgency and the ref's main job is to make sure fighters can or can't continue and it was the right call. Chavez didn't "ruin" Taylor but the accumulation of punishment especially from "philly wars" in the gym were gonna assure that Taylor's career wouldn't be long. That and Meldrick's slugger's mentality.

    Then U dumb.

Fact: A ref cannot do fighters favors to help im win a fight.
Fact: A ref's main job is to protect the fighter
Fact: A 12 rd fight is 36 minutes long, not 35 min 54 sec.
Fact: Taylor was out on his feet.
Fact: Taylor didn't realize he was getting the count.
Fact: Taylor didn't even see taylor counting infront of his face.
Fact: Taylor didn't even hear Steele ask him if he was okay.
Fact: Taylor confessed to the previous three points I made.
Fact: A boxer only needs 1 second to KO another fighter.
Fact: Chavez had more than 1 second.
Fact: Based on the evidence, Taylor was unfit to continue.
Fact: Chavez won by 12th RD TKO
