Taylor by wide UD, like 8-4, 9-3. Too much speed.

There are some really terrible memories displayed by some of the posters on this thread.

If Taylor could avoid exchanging in the pocket for too long and was able to utilize his footwork in an efficient manner, I could see him win a wide ud against kostya. But kostya has that one punch power that could change the dynamic of a fight at any given moment.

Perhaps, but when did a single punch ever undo Taylor?

The infamous Chavez right hand in round 12 alone didn't do it by itself. It was 11-plus rounds of sustained punishment that had already sapped his legs badly that allowed that single right hand to put Taylor away.

A single sniping punch here and there would never stop Taylor. You'd have to systematically break him down the way Chavez did, and that wasn't Kostya's game.

And even that last right hand didn't finish Meldrick. He still rose at the count of six and faintly indicated that he wanted to continue. Had he been permitted to do so, he would have only needed to survive two-three more seconds of action and the victory would have been his.

Tszyu late rounds stoppage or points.

Taylor speed would pose Tszyu some early problems but was Tszyu finds his distance he becomes a machine.

Tszyu is top 3 in the history of the 140 division and consistently gets sold short on this forum.

They ruined a perfectly good ******* when they gave you teeth.

Taylor was stopped by average puncher Norris. He was also stopped by two guys with similar KO records as Kostya, in Espana, and Chavez.

You are the half wit who claims Kostya only ever fought " bums."

What you know and a penny, wouldn't buy a cup of tea. So take your half witted opinions and shove them up your sh itter.

He certainly does, probably because he's not Murican.

For someone who is supposed to only have had one punch ( the right hand ) he doesn't do too badly with his left in this fight, and that was after a 22 month lay off after having surgery on his left shoulder.

Lol funny you should post that.

Growing up Kostya was my favourite fighter and when I saw this topic it reminded me of how I hadn't watched any of his fights in a whilst. So I have literally just come back to the forum from watching g that fight.

LOL. I knew when xplosive threw you a little shade, you would go postal and you did not disappoint.

KO losses to the much bigger Terry Norris and Christano Espana would have little bearing on this matchup. We're talking prime 140 lb Taylor who only lost to all time great JC Chavez, and only after an ultra competitive fight.

Kostya, while a good champion, was not in the class of prime 140 lb. JC Chavez.

Most of Kostya's best wins were over faded fighters like Roger Mayweather, Chavez and Miguel A. Gonzales.

His best win is undoubtedly over Zab Judah, who while not a 'bum', was deeply flawed and was not as good as prime Taylor.

This is a very good matchup, but my gut tells me Taylor gets inside and wins a decision.

Who were these great fighters Taylor beat?

From what I can remember his only notable win being McGirt?

There appears to be no end to your bull. Out of 47 fights Taylor had at least 2 dozen where he weighed over 140. The heaviest he EVER weighed was 159, funnily enough EXACTLY the same as Norris's heaviest ever weight.

Norris had 2 inches in both height, and reach over Taylor, that is NOT " much bigger "

Espana was a domestic level fighter prior to beating Taylor, and was nowhere near the class of K.T.

As for his best wins, ALL of his KO''s were his best wins. Ffs they threw him in with Juan Laporte in only his 4th fight, and it was only his 15th when he came up against the old campaigner Mayweather. Of the 6 guys that did go the distance with Tszyu the only one to make something of a fight of it was Urkal. The rest were well outclassed.

Chavez NEVER had the one shot power of Tszyu. That is the reason Taylor losses, Zoo knocked guys out that were bigger than him, or Taylor, and he also knocked out guys that had never been KO'd before fighting him.

Tszyu was far from slow himself. Taylor just didn't have the defense or style to limit Tszyu's chances enough for him to come away unscathed, and when Tszyu is tagging you cleanly, you aren't bound to last long. Tszyu late kayo.

Reading some of the posts on here you could be forgiven for thinking Tszyu was a one dimentional plodder with nothing more than a big right hand.

Never mind his amateur record of 259 - 11, or the fact that Ring Mag in March 2010 ranked him as the #1 L / Welter of the 2000's decade.

I seriously doubt many of these posters have seen the guy fight.
