Taylor and Breland were both Olympic teammates as well as gold medalists and also have a common opponent in Aaron Davis. Davis had beaten Breland in a war to win the title then loses to Taylor the following year.

How do you see this fight go? The Breland who destroyed Honeyghan against the Taylor who beat Aaron Davis?

Pretty good fight but sure like Taylor better at 140 than when he climbed up in weight. That Norris bout at 154 was really bad.

As to this bout--you'd think Breland should win it. But there was always something with Mark and he was always vulnerable. Even the bouts he won he had that vulnerability look to him. That might just be enough of a window for those fast hands of Taylor to capitalize on. And nobody had to tell Meldrick Taylor to throw combos--that's all he did. So if he did land those combos of his they might get knockdowns and be enough to win on the cards. An interesting bout and the loser takes a big step back.

Taylor was hit and miss above 140 I think I'd go with Brelands extra size and reach along with his power being the difference.

I don't think Taylor has the physicality to beat Breland at 147.

Have to go with breland. His height, reach and power and natural standing as a true welterweight is what would prevail. And Meldrick didn’t have much at welter to hurt him with. Subsequently both men were trained and managed by the Duvas and were on the same 84 Olympic team.
