nah at least is forces a discussion instead of just click and leave. i would favour mel. fast hands, workrate and a good educated brain. i think could make the more negative, oyster styled fighter just get outhustled out of fight. not becuase starling is better. but he usually won by countering and pressuring while not wasting much energy. even though mel may through plenty of punches i have never seen him tired in a fight he just lets his hands go. when he did lose he was usually broken down by hard punchers. andi dont think marly is doing it...
I pick Meldrick to win on speed. Starling was good but when he fought a guy with speed he was neutralized since the guy could reach him easier than they normally could.
You fail. This is a good matchup. Personally I'd take Starling. I think his strength would eventually wear Mel down at 147... but the Davis version of Taylor still had a good amount left in the tank, and theres a chance he could outpoint Starling.
I'd favor the more proven and natural Welterweight in Starling to neutralize Taylor's shoe-shine punches with his defense and counter him with the more precise shots.
Marlon would take Meldrick by late round stoppage.Meldrick, after Chavez, wasn't the saem fighter, and he would deal with a fighter who had a tighter defense, fast hands not that far off of his, and good power. Marlon wins this anywhere from ninth to twelth round stoppage.
Starling would beat Taylor up. Thenspeed will cause him some problems early and he'll try and figure out the best plan of action, but he won't be troubled. This is a man who went tit-for-tat with Don Curry twice, nearly beat him when he was green and fought a great technical battle with him in his prime. Taylor isn't doing shot. Moochy would push him back, easily defend Taylor's shoeshine shots and beat him up. Starling TKO8
