Taylor would dominate Ricky Hatton. Hatton has a small chance of roughing up Meldrick on the inside. But, more likely, Hatton would be swinging at air all night and getting countered to death with lightning combinations. Taylor late TKO over Hatton.
Taylor got the better of a superior Hatton in Chavez and Hatton wouldn't do enough damage to force a stoppage. Taylor by UD or maybe a late stoppage.
Taylor had too much speed for Hatton. He'd give him some angles in the process. Taylor would win a wide decision.
With the frequency he'd be hitting Hatton, yes, he would eventually stop him. Taylor had a quality left hook, one of the biggest misconceptions was that he couldn't punch. And Hatton's chin was NEVER granite.
Taylor is never going to knock Hatton out, ( the air from Kostya Tszyu's punches were harder than Taylor's actual shots ) but wins a wide UD.
Taylor buzzed the granite chinned Chavez a few times. Just by how cleanly and quickly he was hitting him. So let's not pretend he can't hurt Hatton. Speed kills. Hatton getting hit by a washed up Tszyu at half speed is a lot different than Taylor reeling 4-5 punch combos off his face all night. Hatton never had a quality chin. It was solid, prior to Floyd stopping him, but he was always hurtable.
