at "couldn't even dent Chavez". Taylor couldn't drop or dent Chavez like those numerous other guys did in his first 88 pro fights.
Taylor wasn't a big puncher, but he had the activity level to ware down Hatton and stop him, maybe on cuts/swelling or finally dropping a beaten and tired Hatton in the late rounds. Either that, or UD. I don't see Hatton as being the type of fighter that has enough to take full advantage of Taylor's flaws.
This. but a good fight up until then. However, when you say Prime-- i actually pick the Hatton pre-Kosta Tszyu. The kind we saw against Ben Tackie. The pressure fighter.. not the eat-shots, no head movement, lunge in for left-hooks then clinch post-KT Hatton! Ricky is one of the best light-welter long-stays OF HIS GENERATION. Not of all-time. If you include the last generation- the likes of Chavez, Taylor & Pernell would pick him apart and KO him! Hatton fan but the truth is the truth!
