What would say is Taylor’s best performance skill wise ...I am asking so I can go back and look. Because at first glance I’m not blown away. I watched his fight with Howard Davis and I saw a lot of speed from both guys ...

I would say at a top level Buddy McGirt would be the fight to watch. Past prime against Aaron Davis is another good one to check out.

Taylor was still green in the Howard Davis fight, and Davis put forth the last great performance of his career. Mel was only like 19 when he fought Davis.

That fight made Taylor better, and he was more polished and controlled two years later when he took the title from McGirt, in what was his best performance. Not sure how much you know about McGirt, but Buddy was an excellent fighter and was a solid favorite over Taylor going in. Most people expected him to be too much for Taylor.

Taylor dominated McGirt in a way no one else did before or after, not even Whitaker.

Taylor's skills should be apparent. He had one of the best jabs in boxing when he utilized it (a MUCH better jab than Bradley), he was a fluid combination puncher who mixed his attack well to the head and body, and he had excellent offensive footwork and used it to create angles for his combinations.

Bradley has some Holyfield qualities to him...it was easy to sell Evander short going in to the Tyson fights because he didn't have the standout attributes like Mike did that popped on tape. There were faster guys. Plenty hit harder. But he always showed up in tremendous condition and with an incomparable will to win, with an eagerness to dog it out and bully your will away in the process (headbutts and all).

Timmy has a lot of those same elements, and gets underrated as a result. He's not an easy fighter to look good against and isn't getting blown out here by any stretch

I agree! He is not as well known in classic circles as Taylor and does not have the name recognition either. But he would be a tough test/fight for Meldrick. I do think Taylor beats him, but he is not the joke or pretender some might paint him as.
