The Filipino champion Melvin Jerusalem 25-3 (12KOs) gives a rematch to the South African Siyakholwa Kuse 9-3-1 (4KOs) this time in South Africa, it will be the 4th defenses of the WBC Minimumweight belt of Melvin Jerusalem May 16th. I don't understand why WBC is agree for a rematch here; the first fight was clear. In the undercard Charlton Malajika 9-1 (4KOs) the brother of Ricardo Malajika, will be against the undefeated David Mwale 13-0 (7KOs) in a 10 rounds in Bantamweight. This content is protected
Yes, I’d much rather see a rematch with Collazo or a fight with Taduran. Minimumweight is sadly the worst division right now. At least middleweight has some action from former 154 pounders.
No the worst is Bridgerweight, I feel that Melvin Jerusalem and Oscar Collazo are avoiding the unification against Pedro Taduran who is surely the best Minimumweight in the world now.
I always liked Jerusalem. I hope he can be successful in this fight too. I would like to see him step up the quality of his opposition, however.
Bridgerweight isn’t a real weight class in my book because their are so called brigerweights. And if they fully implement Bridgerweight, I’ll never watch the heavyweight division again. With Taduran I seen his fight with Shigeoka and Perez Alvarez where he looked very impressive and I would favor him over Jerusalm and maybe 50/50 with Collazo.
The same for me ! I'm also still very sad for the Shigeoka Brothers the brothers was the top young boxers in this category... all was too fast for them...
you are right. A couple of years ago the Shigeokas looked like they were the future in the weight class. It all fell apart so quickly. Pretty sad, actually.
Melvin Oliva Jerusalem vs. Siyakholwa Kuse RBR. | Page 7 | Boxing News 24 Fan Forum First fight wasn't really clear. A lot of people in the thread, including myself thought Kuse was unlucky not to win. At the very least, it was a close, either way fight and a rematch of fights like that are welcome.
