Kevin Traña vs. Reynaldo Moreno, 4 rounds @ super flyweight

 

Round 1

Traña is controlling the action with his left jab, thrown straight out from the chest or dragged up and backhanded from the lead hip, unbothered when Moreno conducts his frequent switches from orthodox to southpaw. Moreno is poking and swatting at the body while ducked low with both hands and Traña is backing him off with hammering right & hooking left combos, throwing no more than a couple of power blows in each sequence, conserving his energy, keeping a very gentle foot on the gas pedal.

Round 2

Traña is continuing to have everything his way. Traña is working short L&R uppercuts in rapid succession, dribbled against the bottom of Moreno's chin. Traña is backing Moreno into the ropes with right hand leads. Moreno is covering up and bowing his buttocks out to fold himself like a taco and nearly genuflect away from Traña, leaving a snail trail of light jabs and body slaps.

Round 3

Traña is getting creative, playing with different combinations. Moreno is leaning in, arms bundled and pressed against Traña. Short left hook across the cheek and right cross put together by Moreno inside, backing straight out as Traña soaks up his shots with a shake of the head and disdainful smirk. Traña comes forward, taking his turn with huge left hooks on the liver, chicken-winging his elbows up to block Moreno's counter body shots.

Round 4

Traña is leading with rights strapped across the face of Moreno and then hooking away up close. Moreno is backing off under fire, eating shots as collateral to his escape. Moreno is occasionally standing his ground and reaching in with a couple of spiteful punches but mostly is kept on the back-foot. Traña is sniping from outside with straight rights on the body during the odd lulls. Traña is hunting Moreno down and beating him to the punch with combos.

Kevin Francisco Lara Quiroz vs. Moisés Mojica, 6 rounds @ bantamweight

 

This is a war but my attention is (momentarily) on the HBO card, namely the surprisingly aesthetic Miller vs. Duhaupas heavyweight battle.

Lara not having quite so easy a night's work against Mojica as one might expect, suffice to say...
